Tarot Discussion – Wisdom Of the Maya Oracle for Week of July 22 2010

A lot of strange things (strange even for me) have been happening in and around my life.  What I mean by around my life, is that events are happening to family and friends, and the family and friends tell me about it.  Usually, I am in the dream, the thoughts, or discussion.  Somehow, what they are experiencing is connected to me as well.  So, I thought that I would ask the Mayan Oracle what it is that I should know, and that others like me should know for this upcoming week.

The deck that I am using is called “The Wisdom of the Maya – An Oracle of Ancient Knowledge For Today” by Dr. Ronald L. Bonewitz with cared illustrations by Achim Frederick Kiel.  A layout done in this tradition starts in the east, and flows to the north, then west and finally South.  Here are my results.

East – Edznab Glyph 13 – card 43 Flint

image  The message behind this card is about cutting through obstacles and cutting cords of attachment.  All that we had is no longer serving us, so we need to find something different, something more sacred to form our life around.

North – Sotz – card 19 The Bat

This card expands on the message that began in the Flint card – the message is around sudden endings – work, friendships, relationships, and even lives.  This card is about having everything turned upside down, even as bat hangs upside down during the day.  All things will be topsy turvey.

West – U – card 15 The Moon

image

The Moon is ever present, even when we cannot see it, and supports the Sun.  The message is clear that the hidden forces of Spirit – of light and dark – will support us through this time of change.  The rabbit symbol means abundance will be available, however it will be in a new form.

South – EB Glyph 12 – Card 37 Evil Rain

image

Continuing the abrupt changes in the first two cards, Evil Rain is the “problem” card telling  us that we will have many small problems plague us to distraction.  And, that is what these problems are – a distraction to keep us from our path.  During this time, our problem solving skills will be honed to prepare us for the time ahead.  Remember that this is a short period – perhaps two weeks at most.

So, put on your crash helmets, and bumper pads because life is going to get interesting!

Namaste,
