Angels Speak - You Are The Universe

image

Each of us has the capacity to see the sky, the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars.  If we have keen eyes, we can see the planets, space stations, satellites, and shooting stars.

We see them because we recognize them.  Each of us has the memory of the Universe in our cells, to draw on when needed.  We know so much more than we are!

Blessings….

Spirit Speaks - Walking In Energy

image

In essence, everything is energy and cannot be destroyed. ~~
Ted Andrews

It is important to remember that we are energy. Einstein told us that. And energy cannot be created or destroyed, it just changes form. ~~Rhonda Byrne

You can use your life in a very useful and intelligent way. You can very well transform that negative energy into a positive energy that empowers you and makes life meaningful. ~~ Thich Nhat Hanh

You let the energy go wherever it wants. I have such a rich spiritual life. Most people take drugs to experience that. ~~ Shirley Maclaine

I can tell you that anything that happens in the physical body will happen in the pattern of the energy fields first.  So you actually create distortions in your own energy pattern that have to do with unforgivingness towards your self. ~~Barbara Brennan Quote

From Judy – Changes, Changes, and More Changes

Dear Readers,

After a week and a bit away, recharging at a conference, and then in the mountains, I am now ready to be back, sharing the information of the animals and the earth and the angels, with all of you.

I have had some amazing conversations with different beings and animals, and I will write out some of their sharing over the next month.

I am also making some big changes in what I am doing.  Beginning October 1, 2010, I will be back in the corporate world full time with my new company that I have started called “Data Cloud Consulting Inc.”  My husband and I are getting the website developed and I will be taking training on the new technologies that we will be providing, through October.

Life is so much more than we think.  We can do everything that is given to us by Spirit.  And, Spirit has so much to give!

takakaw_falls_100929__160

This is a picture that Roger took of me at Takakkaw Falls on Sept 29th.  We had been driving through fog, and when we drove up and up to the falls, we were blessed with glorious sunshine.  I asked for a blessing for my new business, and, Spirit (Great Spirit, Creator) as well as all the guardians of the mountains and the falls seemed to bless the new venture.

You can see one very large orb over my head, and if you expand the picture, you will see other, smaller orbs, or less dense orbs, coming down towards my head.  What a blessing!

I am grateful!

I hope all of you have new ventures that you are putting in place that will give you great joy and activate the creativity in you.

Blessings,

Judy

Spirit Animal – Octopus Visit

The Octopus has received a lot of attention over the last several decades.  The Beatles made the Octopus a legendary figure in their song “Octopus’s Garden”.  We often refer to our family as “the octopus that we can never escape”.  A new expression via Drew Barrymore is “I wish I were an octopus so I could hug ten people at a time!”  Octopus is part of our speech and our culture.

Octopus is given its name, in part from its eight legs or tentacles.  As eight is the number of infinity, Octopus has a connection to the heavens and to Great Spirit, even though Octopus lives at the bottom of the ocean.  Their home is a small cave, or pile of rocks that it can fit into, along the sea floor. Here Octopus hides and waits for prey.  What makes this animal so unusual is that it has no bones in its body, so it is able to squeeze into small spaces.  One can say that Octopus is the ultimate example of flexibility.

When Octopus is spread out, its tentacles are like the spokes in a wheel, or like an eight point star. It represents nothing and everything.  The suction cups on their tentacles allow Octopus to grab on to and to hold tightly.  As Octopus has a short life span of one to five years, it seems that these suction cups may represent getting a hold on life.

Octopus is playful, as well.  Watch this video and enjoy the humour of Octopus’s visit.

Spirit Speaks – Dream called “Round up the dragons!”

I love dragons and I have often seen them in dreams and visions.  Recently, however, I had a strange dream about dragons that made me sad. I would like to share it with you, and get your input into the imagery.

**********************************************************

image

Image of dragon from www.freedragonpictures.com

The dream began with me walking out of a building because I could hear a noise.  I walked out on the road, and then I could see a huge truck, carrying four large dragons, like the one above, chained in the truck.  The dragons were crying.  They had been captured by subterfuge; the dragons coming to share information, and the men capturing them so they would not.  I felt sick.  I walked away, wondering what I could do for them.  I went to the kitchen, to get some tea.  As I leaned over to get the tea kettle, four small dragons, about the size of cats with wings, ran out from under a table. They had gotten loose.  The colours were red, blue, gold, and silver.  They came running at my legs and I thought they might bite me.  However, they simply bumped them and then began running around, and playing.  When they came back at me, my dog Sage, appeared at my side, and woofed them away, and then grinned up at me, and licked my hand.  I then I woke up.

The dream is staying with me, so I feel there is something important in it that perhaps I am missing.

If you have any thoughts, please share them.

Stars and Planets - Second Smallest Exoplanet Found

The discovery of new planets, stars, galaxies, and nebulas is happening at a great rate compared to the discovery of new pieces of the universe before 1970.  Part of the reason for discover is, of course, improved technology.  However, it seems like some of the discoveries now happen as part of the evolution of mankind and his ability to integrate with the universe.

Perhaps that is what the space programs are really about – not simply discovering other planets, but showing the other members of the Universe that we are advancing and that we are now able to go into space.

Whatever the reason, it is very comforting to see new planets and nebulas being discovered because that means for us, we have not reached the end of the Universe.

Ancestors Speak – Blue Moon (Dec 31 2009)

Tonight, Dec 31, 2009, will be a “Blue Moon”.

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/091229/science/science_us_sci_blue_moon_1  The New Year's Eve blue moon will be visible in the United States, Canada, Europe, South America and Africa. For partygoers in Australia and Asia, the full moon does not show up until New Year's Day, making January a blue moon month for them.

image

Our Ancestors believed that great magic was at work when the moon appeared to have a blue tinge to it.  The different phases of the moon were all celebrated and a different goddess was attributed to each day of the moon.  The Blue Moon signalled that great changes, usually physical changes, would happen on the Earth.  Of course, each change affected the humans, and so they completed elaborate rituals to honour the Moon Goddess of the Blue Moon, and humbly asked for protection from what ever was to come.

This emotion comes through in today’s Tarot cards.  For example, The Moon card from the Arto Deck is beautiful, and shows Artemis, Moon Goddess, walking the hunt with her dogs and carrying the Hare which is sacred to her.

image

The Arto deck was published by Adam McLean in 2008

However, the card shows that emotions play a huge role in the picture’s story. One dog is howling, and one dog is looking protective of Artemis.  The lobster out of the water is unnatural, and speaks of unnatural things happening.  When the Moon card shows up, a reader will tell you that it is time to pay attention to intuition, to watch for magic, and also to be aware of a world going topsy turvey.  Even though the ocean shows calmness on the surface, there are big currents underneath, that are hidden.  The sail boat, sailing with a full sail is also not normal for most often at night, the sails are down.  This means that some power is at work, trying to move goods and perhaps men,  while most people are sleeping. In other words, power is working in the darkness in an effort to keep things hidden.

Perhaps this is a reflection of how governments around the world have been trying to lie to their constituents about how the government uses money, about food supplies, and about pharmaceuticals that have been put on the market, and were not thoroughly tested.

This Blue Moon signals that 2010 will be a time of reckoning for deceitfulness, and gives warning to individuals to trust in the natural, and what is in their heart.

Happy New Year’s Eve!

From Judy – Christmas Eve Tale of Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer

This story comes from my friend, Geoffrey Keyte, Director of Healing International at http://healinginternational.ning.com

The Story Behind the Story of Rudolph, The Red Nosed Reindeer

image

Rudolph…

from www.guy-sports.com

A man named Bob May, depressed and broken hearted, stared out his drafty apartment window into the chilling December night.  His 4-year-old daughter Barbara sat on his lap quietly sobbing.

Bobs wife, Evelyn, was dying of cancer.

Little Barbara couldn't understand why her mommy could never come home. Barbara looked up into her dad's eyes and asked, "Why isn't Mommy just like everybody else's Mommy?" Bob's jaw tightened and his eyes welled with tears.

Her question brought waves of grief, but also of anger. It had been the story of Bob's life. Life always had to be different for Bob. Small when he was a kid, Bob was often bullied by other boys. He was too little at the time to compete in sports. He was often called names he'd rather not remember.

From childhood, Bob was different and never seemed to fit in. Bob did complete college, married his loving wife and was grateful to get his job as a copywriter at Montgomery Ward during the Great Depression. Then he was blessed with his little  girl.

But it was all short-lived. Evelyn's bout with cancer stripped  them of all their savings and now Bob and his daughter were forced  to live in a two-room apartment in he Chicago slums. Evelyn died  just days before Christmas in 1938. Bob struggled to give hope to his child, for whom he couldn't even afford to buy a Christmas gift. But if he couldn't buy a gift, he was determined a make one - a storybook!

Bob had created a character in his own mind and told the animal's story to little Barbara to give her comfort and hope. Again and again Bob told the story, embellishing it more with each telling.

Who was the character? What was the story all about? The story Bob May created was his own autobiography in fable form. The character he created was a misfit outcast like he was. The name of the character? A little reindeer named Rudolph, with a big shiny nose.

Bob finished the book just in time to give it to his little girl on Christmas Day. But the story doesn't end there. The general manager of Montgomery Ward caught wind of the little storybook and offered Bob May a nominal fee to purchase the rights to print the book. Wards went on to print,_ Rudolph the  Red-Nosed Reindeer_ and distribute it to children visiting Santa Claus in their stores.

By 1946 Wards had printed and distributed more than six million copies of Rudolph. That same year, a major publisher wanted to purchase the rights from Wards to print an  updated version of the book. In an unprecedented gesture of  kindness, the CEO of Wards returned all rights back to Bob May. The book became a best seller. Many toy and marketing deals followed and Bob May, now remarried with a growing family, became wealthy from  the story he created to comfort his grieving daughter. But the story  doesn't end there either.

Bob's brother-in-law, Johnny Marks, made a song adaptation to  Rudolph. Though the song was turned down by such popular vocalists  as Bing Crosby and Dinah Shore , it was recorded by the singing  cowboy, Gene Autry. "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" was released  in 1949 and became a phenomenal success, selling mo re records than  any other Christmas song, with the exception of "White Christmas."

The gift of love that Bob May created for his daughter so long ago kept on returning back to bless him again and again. And Bob May
learned the lesson, just like his dear friend Rudolph, that being different isn't so bad. In fact, being different can be a blessing.

Ancestors Speak – Full Moon for November (November 2, 2009)

 clip_image002

Image by Khalifa Al-Matawaah ♥ via Flickr

The full moon aspect of November is called “The Snow Moon”.  As a full moon is always about completion and the sign that something new will start, the name of the moon time is appropriate because northern farmers have completed bringing in their crops (although this year, some are still harvesting corn on the prairies), and the ground has been tilled in preparation for next year.  The snow that comes, blankets the ground and will be the first source of moisture to awaken the Earth in the spring.

The meditation for this full moon is contemplative, and is around “what do I need to work on over the next month” as the end of summer is now here, and my available time is changing.  Some of the topics that are up for grabs include the the time that November 2 represents – All Souls Day.  This is another time to reflect upon one’s ancestors – the ones that have inspired us to move beyond what we believed we were capable of doing.

If you are looking for topics for contemplation, here are a few more.

  • who do I need to forgive in my life so I no longer carry baggage around felt past wrongs?
  • what activity can I do that makes my soul happy?
  • do I have a habit of some sort that blocks my path to happiness?
  • what can I do to be less judgemental, or to become non-judgemental?
  • do I show the people I love that I love them? Everyday?
  • do I need to do more self care?
  • do I need to work on my self esteem?
  • do I need to spend more time in nature?

These are some of the thoughts that have been shared with me, and that are worthy of contemplating.  Have a wonderful meditation!

The Legend of the Moksgm’ol - the Spirit Bear
Long ago, when the earth was covered in ice, Raven - the creator - decided to change the earth to a beautiful green land. But as a reminder of when the world was pure and clean, covered with snow and ice, Raven went among the black bear people and turned every tenth bear white.
Raven promised that these unique bears would have unique powers: they would lead special people to special places and have the ability to dive deep in the ocean in search of fish.
Raven then set aside a rainforest home for the bears where he decreed that they would live forever in peace and harmony.

Tarot Discussion – Rune Tarot - DAEG

image

24 DAEG from The Runic Tarot by Caroline Smith and John Astrop

I have been in a period of change now for about three weeks.  Part of that time, I was actually away and contemplating what I should be spending my time on.  I really did not come up with a satisfactory answer.  All I heard was the word, “Patience”.  I felt like young Grasshopper at the feet of his Master with not knowing what comes next.

Today, I pulled the DAEG card in my daily routine of pulling a card to see what was up for me.  DAEG means day. The wonderful verse that goes with this card is:

“Day is Odin’s messenger, dear to men,   The Ruler’s glorious light, Mirth and hope to prosperous and poor, Useful to all.”

It seems this card is promising that my energy is going to be restored as new opportunities come my way.  DAEG is about growth, development, progress (Grasshopper likes this!), new light, and positive change.

Some of the meanings associated with this card are:

  1. bringing hidden or unjust things to the light
  2. causing a drastic change in public opinion
  3. researching and discovering new advances in ourselves and in the Universe
  4. a new way of living and seeing life
  5. finding new knowledge and revealing new truths.

I will take any of these happy outcomes that are associated with this card.  Life is bright with DAEG.

Spirit Animal – Snake

image

Picture from http://www.gov.mb.ca/conservation/wildlife/managing/snakes.html

In April, snakes come out of hibernation.  As they leave the dens, they mate and then part ways.  Generally, one associates Snake with transformation – shedding the skin is representative of shedding “things” that no longer are useful.  It is also a metaphor for how we shed old ways and habits as we grow into higher spiritual energy symbolizing the death and rebirth process. Often, the shedding is associated with astral travel and out of body experiences. People the world over are fascinated with snakes. This is because there are so many stories and legends about Snake.

For example, the Hopi revered snakes as a fertility symbol. The Hopi people of North America performed an annual snake dance to celebrate the union of Snake Youth (a Sky spirit) and Snake Girl (an Underworld spirit) and to renew fertility of Nature. During the dance, live snakes were handled and at the end of the dance the snakes were released into the fields to guarantee good crops. – Wikipedia

image

Garter Snake picture from Wikipedia

Indigenous peoples in Africa and Australia had myths about a Rainbow Snake, which was either Mother Earth herself giving birth to all animals or a water-god whose writhing created rivers, creeks and oceans.  The Zulu Shaman of South Africa believe that to cross a snake’s path will cause a shift in one’s energy, and allow the person to become more spiritual. Or, the energy of the serpent’s path may be so strong that the person becomes ill, and remains stuck until the Ancestors clear the blockages.

Snakes are about life, and if Snake appears to you in some way, pay attention to the messages. In addition to some of the items mentioned above, Snake is about regulating temperature.  The cold rocks cool down Snake, and darkness and cold puts it into near dormancy.  In the Winter, this happens to many who sufferer from SAD.  To combat the cold and the dark, Snake lies in the Sun and basks to fully warm up its body and to be in the light.  The message may be to come out of the darkness that you have held yourself in, and move into the light and the warmth.  Light and warm represents “Love”.  Snake is also linked to Love in many belief systems as Snake represents fertitlity, part of the reason the Hopi freed them into the fields.

Snake may eat minimally and go for weeks without eating.  The message is about your eating habits.  Are you eating what is right for you?  Are you eating too much?  Snake does not over eat.  Are you doing the right things for your life force?  Do you need to live in a warmer climate?

Perhaps Snake is bringing you a message about swift change coming into your life.  Are you ready to move out into the world?

Angels And Ancestors
Listen Now   Pilgrimage – Releasing and Understanding

In 712, Glastonbury Abbey was built by Benedictine monks. It became the one spot of pure love radiating out to a dark world. It drew pilgrims, Christian or not, from all over the world. Pilgrimages are journeys to sacred shrines or places of power, often to seek spiritual guidance and perhaps healing of one’s own illness or for healing for one’s family member. Pilgrims believed the journey was a sacrifice required for healing. Since the mid 1990’s, people have again been signing up for journeys to Machu Picchu, parts of Tibet, India, down the Amazon, the pyramids of Egypt, and parts of England, Ireland, Scotland, France, and Spain. Why do people make pilgrimages? Do they really change? Is a Vision Quest similar to the pilgrimage? Join Judith Hirst-Joyeux as she examines the questions, and provides information for each of you to make your own assessment of a Pilgrimage. Is it the journey or the destination?

Radio Show - The Sacred Way of Working With The Land on March 24 2009

100_0252 The land of Southern Alberta – picture by Judith Hirst-Joyeux

Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 12pm Pacific

The Earth was regarded by early humans as an infinite source of abundance. And, because of the very small population, it was a bountiful place. Since the Earth provided all the basic necessities, all peoples living off the land were very conscious of the concept of “reciprocity” which translated into “what you take from the land (plants, animals, water, etc) you return to the land in some form of payment. This concept is really called “Balance”. The Shaman of the tribes were constantly reminding the People to pay tribute. As the tribes became more permanent, the camps became villages which became towns and cities. More people left the land for the cities. There, people forgot about balance. That demanding has continued into the 21st Century. Mother Earth, for one who nurtures is a Mother, is no longer an infinite source of supply. Spend time with Judith Hirst-Joyeux learning about different sacred ways that you may work with the land, and do your part to return to balance.

Wolf image from Microsoft Clip Art

We do not have the same relationship with animals that our Ancestors did, even a hundred years ago. The change has been that we have moved away from depending on them as a food source to depending on them for emotional satisfaction, whether that is entertainment or comfort. In the process of this change, generally, we have lost our understanding of what animals mean to us at an energetic, mythic and symbolic level. We interact with them strictly at the physical. In this show, Judith Hirst-Joyeux will discuss how to recognize the messages that animals bring to us, and apply the direction to our lives. She will also guide listeners in an exercise to use spirit animals to bring you information on a question. Find out why cartoon animals sometimes show up frequently in your life. Tarot Discussion - OSHO Card "ICE-OLATION"

image

Picture of the ICE-OLATION card from the OSHO Zen Tarot deck.

Today is a big day for us - we are flying east to see my brothers and celebrate their fiftieth birthday.  So, when I drew the card from the Osho ZEN Tarot deck, it was little surprise that I picked card number three - Ice-olation.  When we are in isolation, we are alone, and, some say, you are isolated because of "your cold emotions".  Isolation may be caused by illness, by distance, by business, or many things that just seem to occur without being intentional.

Part of the write up on the card explains this very well.  "....To be in the self means to become an island. To be in the self means to draw a boundary line around you. To be in the self means to make a distinction between 'this I am' and 'that I am not'. The definition, the boundary, between "I" and "not I" is what the self is--the self isolates. And it makes you frozen--you are no longer flowing. If you are flowing the self cannot exist. Hence people have become almost like ice-cubes. They don't have any warmth, they don't have any love--love is warmth and they are afraid of love. If warmth comes to them they will start melting and the boundaries will disappear. In love the boundaries disappear; in joy also the boundaries disappear, because joy is not cold."  From the OSHO ZEN TAROT COMMENTARY.

The explanation makes the card perfect for this day!  In flying, all of the boundaries of province, time, and distance disappear.  We have great joy in this occasion because not only do they mark their half century celebration, it is also the joy of reunion of family.   For my family, isolation means that we live in three different provinces across a space of several thousand miles.  We talk on the phone, however, nothing replaces the happiness of being together.

May you find an occasion to move out of your isolation and find peace and joy! May your Spirit sing as a result!

Tarot Discussion - What Does the Next Week Hold?

image

Three Cards - Zero, the Fool; Eight of Cups; Eight of Pentacles --- from the deck simply called "Tarot" by Running Press.

Usually at the beginning of the week, I will pull out three cards from a Tarot deck and simply ask, "What does the next week hold in store for me?" I pulled the cards, and the set above was revealed.

This is an interesting layout for me. It starts with the ZERO or Fool card. As you may know, the actual deck of Tarot is the allegorical tale of the journey of the Fool - his quest if you will - to find out what life holds. Generally, as a youth, we leave home and whether we recognize it or not, we all do have some idealism attached to the idea of being "free". What we find through life is that even though you are "free", there are many things one must do to keep that sense of freedom, and the "must do" then starts to erode "the free".

So for me, having the Fool come up as part of a weekly layout is indicative that I will be starting a big, brand new journey next week that will take me beyond where I have thought I could go. I love the number zero because it is nothing and everything, the total circle of life. The implication is that I am starting over, and in this year of change, that feels right.

What is unusual is to have two 8's come up in this limited spread. The number 8 has meaning on on several levels. On a spiritual level - the number represents the ultimate achievement of enlightenment - entrance to Paradise. The eight also represents a "new man" theme in mystery schools.

In BUDDHISM, the eight is about completion of projects, and the attainment of all possibilities. Good Luck may be represented by eight symbols.

In CHRISTIAN symbolism, the eight is about regeneration and rebirth.

In an earlier blog Tarot Discussion - How To Read Eight of Cups in a deck called "Tarot" - how to read the 8 of cups was featured. Applying this interpretation to the cards above, there is a warning that one needs to be content for the moment, unless one is up to making a sacrifice.

The other 8, the 8 of pentacles represents the eight symbols of luck together with some hard work represented by the hammer, and other tools. If new knowledge is required, one must seek it out, to be able to remain content and in that Paradise of happiness.

May your journey this coming week be filled with happiness!

How many times have you referred to some obnoxious person as an "ass"?  Why do we do that?  Do we do it out of habit or because we truly know what an Ass is?  Yes, Ass is known for its stubborn characteristic, and, if she doesn't like you, she will bite or kick you because she is not shy!  Ass or Donkey is truly not obnoxious.

How did Ass get it's name?  Legend says that this smaller type of horse animal was always at the end of everything - going to the watering hole, at the end of a stampede, and therefore, at the "ass end of everything".  More commonly, however, the Ass is called "Donkey".

Donkey is unique in that it is an independent thinker unlike other herd animals. She will not go where she believes there is danger, nor will she suffer a human that she thinks is not to bright or a human who is cruel.  However, where Donkey sees gentleness, she will adapt and become patient and kind.  She will act as a guardian for small children, for sheep and goats, or for cattle.  Her courage is unmatched for her size.

Donkey's life path was to come to Earth to be a guide for people and for animals.  If she is coming into your life, then pay attention! This animal is one that represents "service to others".  Donkey guides you to help others and that in turn, this will help you.  There is a sense of reflected Karma about Donkey.  She can be very loving, and expects that treatment in return.  Treat her unkindly, and she will walk away from you!  The message then is that if people are asking you to do things outside of your truth and integrity, then walk away.  You do not need to be unkind in return, simply leave.

In Donkey's role as guardian, she may walk with you in your journeys or in your dreams.  Ask her to help you with what ever task you are attempting.  Ask her advice on relationships.  Donkey is most adept at reading people.  And, listen to Donkey if she tells you to take care of yourself.  Perhaps you are overtiring yourself or treading in dangerous places.  Trust her!  Remember that Donkey was the animal that the Angels entrusted with carrying Mother Mary when she walked the Earth.

Spirit Animal - Mouse

image

"Wood Mouse" - picture from Wikipedia

"Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse!" - line from the poem, " 'Twas The Night Before Christmas"

Humans have long had a love-hate relationship with tiny Mouse.  On the love side, we have Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Stuart Little, Algernon, Mighty Mouse, and Jerry from the cartoon, "Tom and Jerry".  On the hate side, we have traps, science experiments, carrying disease, and eating holes in walls and bags of food.  One of the most famous views of Mouse's place in the world comes from the series, "Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" by Douglas Adams.  In this series, it is actually Mice that use humans for experiments in the human condition.

Why does mouse affect us so?  Why do we see pictures of people standing on chairs trying to get away from Mouse?  More than anything, people that are scared of Mouse are really scared of Mouse's power.  This tiny animal is a great example of "small package contain big power".

Mouse is fearless, very quick, and can climb pretty much anything.  Mouse also has very sharp teeth that are self sharpening, allowing her to gnaw through pretty much anything.  With her speed, ability to climb and her ability to gnaw, Mouse will challenge any obstacle and conquer.  And, don' t forget that Mouse is very intelligent. In different experiments, Mouse has proven her ability to look over the situation and to reason out a solution.

When Mouse shows up, do not be frightened!  Mouse has messages for you and will show you different ways of being.   One - always be persistent in attaining your goals.  If you give up, you will go hungry!  Two - walk through life in an unassuming way.  You do not threaten others and this allows you to go where you will, much like I do.   Three - be wary of all people and all new things presented to you.  Someone is always trying to create a new Mouse trap.  Let people earn your trust.  Let them show you and others that they are "in service to others" and not selfish.  Four - pay attention to the messages around you.  I see the the shadow of Hawk, and know that I will not be safe on my journey, so I rest.  I feel the energy of Coyote in the grass, and I know to hide and contemplate life.  I smell the rain, and I know that the Great One is providing water for me, and I must drink.

May you find your way with Mouse's guidance.

Ancestors Speak - Earth Above Fish - A Vision

drum2_15_500x500  "Elk drum" used by Ancestors, picture property of Judith Hirst-Joyeux

When the Ancestors walked this Earth, they lived in close Harmony with the Earth.  Each day, they looked around their space to see what signs they could from the tree people, plant people, two legged, four legged, and the finned, and furred, and winged ones.  Our Ancestors understood that all are connected, and so everything that our Ancestors did, involved a recognition of Nature, and of the Gods, and of the Ancestor Spirits.  As each day began, our Ancestors petitioned the Six directions - east, south, west, north, Earth, Heavens (Sky) for guidance and protection for the day.

We have not changed in fundamental living from our Ancestors.  We still need to find food, have clothes and shelter, and we worry about our relationships with other people.  Our Ancestors looked to find success as hunters and warriors (male) and leaders and artists and creators of abundance (female) to be able to provide for self and family and tribe at large with adequate food and clothing stuff.  Now, we look for success as business people and our success is not measured in how well our family and tribe prosper, but in how we individually do by the money that we earn.

To assist their daily life, our Ancestors had various symbols on bones and rocks that they used to throw to help them determine what the next several days to a week would be like. Or, they could throw the bones for a year, or in the case of a new born, for a quick look at an overview of the life.  All humans on the planet have this form of divination in their past, and some still use it in the present.

Why do we use divination?  What purpose does it serve?  The best explanation seems to be one by Jonn Lavinnder, who says, "If we become adept at recognizing the signs around us, we can predict the future.  The future is the effect of the now, at a later time, according to the laws of nature.  While, due to free will and the complexities of human relationships, no prediction of the future is a certainty, prediction is possible based on probabilities.  The Ancestors foresaw the future by understanding the current situation based on past experience."

image The Earth symbol represents material resources.  The Fish represent the species that lives in water (whales, dolphins, sharks, cod, lobster, all that are vanishing.  And in the fresh water, fresh water dolphins, salmon, trout, and others that are dying out.) The message is that with polluted water from the Earth, balance is no longer.  Material resources are out of harmony with the Earth.  Correction is required.

The Path for 2009, generally, seems to be "Earth Above Fish".  The meaning is that changes need to be made, and in making changes, there will be resistance from those who have long had their way.  There will be a fight.  A strong leader is required, and, the leader require the support of all people.

In 2009, we still are able to resonate with this symbol, and the message.  We see the United States about to inaugurate  a new President next week, one who represents all races, colours, and religions, and who is definitely a Warrior, and a strong leader.

The bones truly do show the potential of the future!
