No Need For Temples

imagePicture of the Dali Lama from http://www.joenolan.com/2008/10/no-mas-for-dalai-lama.html

This is my simple religion.  There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy.  Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.  Dalai Lama, 1935 - -now.

I saw this on a quote page as I was scrolling through web sites.  This is the same philosophy that the indigenous people and their Shaman, Medicine Woman/Man, Wiseones, Mystics, etc. use around the world.  Indeed, there is no need for temples. We are all connected to Creator and vice-versa.  We are connected with everything in creation, if only we can find a way to hear or see or feel or remember.

As we get caught up in the drama around us, we forget to look inside for the answers.  For thousands of years, the teaching has been to look outward.

If you look around, does it seem to you that the world is getting kinder?  Does it also seem that more and more people are moving away from the old fashioned religion?  Yes, many of the individual church congregations are creating their own philosophy for their church and the people.  It includes new ways of doing things and bringing energy healing into the church.  It is perfect for this time.

May kindness guide your day!

Many blessings.

A Story About A Puppy

IMGP0167

A picture of our puppy, Magic, taken at Christmas time, 2006.

This is one of the neatest stories you will ever hear. You will know precisely what this little girl is talking about at the end (you'll want to share this one with your loved ones and special friends)!

                                *************

"Danielle keeps repeating it over and over again. We've been back to this animal shelter at least five times. It has been weeks now since we started all of this," the mother told the volunteer.
"What is it she keeps asking for?" the volunteer asked.
"Puppy size!" replied the mother.

"Well, we have plenty of puppies, if that's what she's looking for."
"I know…we have seen most of them," the mom said in frustration…
Just then Danielle came walking into the office.
"Well, did you find one?" asked her mom. "No, not this time,"
Danielle said with sadness in her voice. "Can we come back on the weekend?"

The two women looked at each other, shook their heads and laughed.
"You never know when we will get more dogs. Unfortunately, there's
always a supply," the volunteer said.
Danielle took her mother by the hand and headed to the door. "Don't worry, I'll find one this weekend," she said.
Over the next few days both mom and dad had long conversations with her. They both felt she was being too particular. "It's this weekend or we're not looking any more," Dad finally said in frustration.

"We don't want to hear anything more about puppy size either," Mom added.
Sure enough, they were the first ones in the shelter on Saturday
morning. By now Danielle knew her way around, so she ran right for the section that housed the smaller dogs. Tired of the routine, mom sat in the small waiting room at the end of the first row of cages. There was an observation window so you could see the animals during times when visitors weren't permitted. Danielle walked slowly from cage to cage, kneeling periodically to take a closer look. One by one the dogs were brought out and she held each one.
One by one she said, "Sorry, you're not the one."
It was the last cage on this last day in search of the perfect pup.
The volunteer opened the cage door and the child carefully picked up the dog and held it closely. This time she took a little longer.
"Mom, that's it! I found the right puppy! He's the one! I know it!" she screamed with joy. "It's the puppy size!"

"But it's the same size as all the other puppies you held over the
last few weeks," Mom said.
"No not size… the sighs. When I held him in my arms, he sighed," she said.
"Don't you remember? When I asked you one day what love is, you told me love depends on the sighs of your heart. The more you love, the bigger the sigh!"
The two women looked at each other for a moment. Mom didn't know whether to laugh or cry. As she stooped down to hug the child, she did a little of both.
"Mom, every time you hold me, I sigh. When you and Daddy come home from work and hug each other, you both sigh. I knew I would find the right puppy if it sighed when I held it in my arms," she said.

Close your eyes for a moment and think about the love that makes you sigh. I not only find it in the arms of my loved ones, but in the caress of a sunset, the kiss of the moonlight and the gentle brush of cool air on a hot day.

Many blessings.

Seeking Adventure

image

Sometimes, we over think things in our lives, and talk ourselves out of doing "stuff" for this reason or that reason.

The Universe is set up so that everything is perfect!  So whether we take a job and do not stay at it for long, or if we meet the person that we think we can live with forever, and it ends suddenly, it IS all perfect.  Each part of the weaving of life is an adventure that provides us with experience that we do not know we will need until much later in life.

The Universe does a fantastic job of prepping us for what is to come.  And yes, even addictions and crime play a part in the weaving of life.  Each of those themes is something that we must learn in this lifetime, either as a balance for what has been or for what is to come.

Many blessings.

Buddha Speaks - We need a Spiritual Life

image

You may have heard the saying that you need something to believe in.  For some, this means that you need religion.  For others, it means that you need to believe in some guiding principles or creed, to help you live your life to its highest potential.

The spiritual life that we lead keeps us grounded when circumstances become dangerous, or filled with grief, or with uncertainty.  By having guiding principles such as the Buddhist Eight Precepts or Don Miguel Ruiz's Four Agreements, or whatever belief system you have, we keep a light burning that keeps us on a path for our highest good.

We can use our spirituality at work, play, or whenever we need it.  The big thing is that we need to remember to use it.

Many blessings.

Spirit Speaks -- What You Seek is Looking For You

image

The wonderful thing about life is that it really is a long, long, vision quest.  As you search and seek (not hide and seek), you send out energy to the Universe, telling the Universe what you want.  The Universe responds to thoughts, words, and energy, and She does her best to send what you need back to you.  It's really a lot like little kids sending out letters to Santa, outlining their wishes for Christmas presents.

When you receive what you have asked for, the cool phrase that describes the process is "manifesting".  You have manifested your desires.  What are the prerequisites?  That the wish is good for all and harms no one.  Therefore, you cannot wish for people to become ill or to die, or to be harmed.

Many blessings.

Energy - Be Positive

imageEvery time that we start over, we need to learn to be positive again.  It is a difficult thing – to learn to be positive.  We have years of ingrained training inside us to please others, to fear change, to deny our gifts, and to over think everything.

When we begin a new part of our life, we need to please our self and to push for change.  We need change to break out of our rut.  We can stop looking at the past because it is in the rearview mirror, and we do not need to care about it.  Ignore the comments, "Look what happened to…".

As we begin, we need to find ways to build ourselves up.  It is a new way of thinking for us.  It is a time to for us to look at our gifts and strengths, and use them.

Many blessings.

Energy - Do What You Were Going To Do

image

This is the start of a new year.  You have had dreams and ideas about how to change your life.  This is a beginning.  It is a great time to make changes.  Sometimes, before we can move on to something different, we have to learn to let go of what we have.  We don't have to do it in one big stroke of letting go.  We can do it in small, baby steps.

Learning to live life to the fullest is the biggest change most of us will make this year.  We know that we can achieve anything.  The Archangels and Angels have told us so.  The rest is up to us.  We can ask for help along the way, but, we do need to let go of our ego.

So when someone offers you a bunch of "free" advice, smile, agree, and move on!

Many blessings.

Letting Go of Control

image

When we let go of control, we find that life flows more smoothly.  Unexpected, miraculous things happen.  Letting go is learning about the flow of life.  When life seems hard and it seems there are huge obstacles, then we know that we are on a path that hasn't been cleared for us.

When we are on the correct path for us, things are smooth.  There is a sense of timelessness about what happens.  We are filled with hope.  We notice the earth changes and liken them to how our life is changing.

When we are journeying through life, and we can see the destination, we know all is right.  We feel calm and at peace.

November 1 2017

image

As November kicks off, people in the Northern Hemisphere are settling in for Winter with its cold and snow and Christmas preparations.

November is a good month for practicing "letting go" of things, feelings, and family/friends that no longer serve you.  Note that serve does not mean in the sense that they are your servants but in the sense that they do not provide any support or encouragement in your life.  If the person makes your life more difficult by demanding that you do this or that, then that person has an agenda that excludes any benefit to you.

For example, if you want to do something like take art classes and those around you tell you that it is a waste of money or that you do not have talent, then they are an example of someone that does not serve you.  Their most common comeback for what they say is, "I am just looking out for your best interest".  This is a falsehood because it would be in your best interest to experience something new.  They don't want you to move ahead or progress so they make up reasons to hold you back.

Sunday Oct 1 2017–About Healing

image

October is a time of big change for us because we go from fall into winter.  In fact, our first snowfall is forecast for early tomorrow morning.  As Mother Earth changes, it is a time for us to look at change.  Maybe, this is the time for you to practice some self healing.

The world is shifting at an ever changing pace.  The fears that are surfacing and then come to pass, are fears:

  • about loosing one's identity,
  • about poverty including lack of food and/or money,
  • about people having power over you
  • about lack of control
  • about loosing what one has
  • about pain and illness
  • about doing the wrong thing
  • about dying

Many of these fears may be overcome by spending some time learning how to do some quick, self healing.

Note that the self healing that will be discussed over the next month does not replace medical doctor's advice, and these blogs should not be taken as medical advice.

What these blogs are intended to do is to provide some coping mechanisms for the turmoil and pains that one might feel in their daily life.

Watch for the next blog posts about some healing strategies.

Buddha Speaks - On Generosity

image

Over the past year in North America, different areas of the continent have been hit by floods and fires and wind via tornadoes and hurricanes.  We have all had a chance to be generous to those who have had misfortune, through no fault of their own.  We have had the chance to help people/families rebuild.  Many people do not give, however.  We wonder why.

It is not the way of people today to be overly generous.  Most often it is because they live from pay to pay, and have little put away for emergencies.  Regardless of the circumstances, the abundance will flow to you if you practice generosity beyond your immediate family.

Spirit Animal - Gorilla on Strength

image

Teachers tell us that when animals appear in our dreams, visions, and through pictures in our daily lives, that the animal has a message or wisdom to share.

Gorilla has been showing up to give remarkable demonstrations on strength.  Some of her thoughts are:

  • Strength must be both physical and mental.  To achieve your strongest physical capability, you must practice (workout). To achieve your clearest mental state, you must take on challenges.
  • Your personality must be clearly defined with a strong sense of goodness and fairness.  Bullies and nasty actions are not accepted.
  • Make either your hearing or your sight one of your strongest traits.  Hearing will let you hear those that plan to harm you.
  • Strength lies in the loyalty of the tribe to one another and to finding food for the good of all

Gorilla tells us to evaluate where we stand with family, with friends, and with our colleagues at work.  She asks us to measure the worth of sticking with them.

Saint Germain - Do Things Now!

image
Saint Germain tells us that time is now running out for you to do all the things that you have on your bucket list.  This is not because you are about to die, but because Great Spirit will call you to work in service to humanity.  Some of you are already doing this work.  Some have refused.
Right now, take time for yourself and do something that you have wanted to do for a long time.  You will gain positivity.  You will be letting go.  You will be learning. You will come to a place of harmony.  Time will be less of a distraction to you.
Sit down and list the things that you want to do.  Work at creating a space to let them happen.

Archangels Speak - Keep Educating Yourself

      image

The Archangels say that you need to love yourself enough to keep learning.  One of the reasons that people shut down and get into a rut is that they forget that they must keep learning and they must stay active.

Life is a daily schedule of life lessons and learning.  Only, many people ignore the lesson and vent that Fate is not kind to them.  Whether you learn a new language, software skills, or how to do wood working, the training provided in that education is invaluable for keeping your brain alert.
