From Spirit – July 2010 Full Moon Energies

Our Ancestors had many different rituals in their lifetimes than we do today.  There are several reasons for that:

  1. They still believed in magic and that the Gods/Goddesses were very active in their lives.
  2. Science and religion had not taken control of belief systems.
  3. The ancients still were very much in touch with the rhythms of the Earth, the cycles of power and lull time.

One of the monthly rituals was the celebration of the full Moon.  Although the Sun parades its full strength and roundness every day, the Moon only shows her full self once per month.  Old calendars were focused on the Moon time, not the cycling of the sun around the planet.  There were thirteen moons and therefore thirteen cycles of power.  People who worked the Earth and roamed the Earth paid close attention to what was going on in the world around them on the day before and the day after the full Moon.

Last night was a full Moon – and Creator provided signs that this was a very powerful Moon.  This Moon, called the Blessing Moon, was significant because it heralds further cleansing of power and corruption. The US Afghan war logs were released on the internet today.  The CEO of British Petroleum, responsible for the large oil leak and water contamination in the Gulf is resigning today, effective October.  Kaing Guek Eav also called “Dutch” is being sentenced for war crimes in Cambodia around the “killing fields”.  And, there is more to come in the way of cleansing.

If you are in mediation today, give a short thanks for the cleansing Moon, and ask that she continue her work to help restore balance to our planet, physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
