Buddha Speaks - Living In The Present

I have a busy mind.  I am always thinking about something – software, stories, what to serve for dinner, and all the other stuff that we each do everyday.  So, for the last four years, I have worked very hard at being in the present moment.  I find that when I am in the moment, everything I do seems so easy. 

I have been doing some online software classes and my mind is getting too busy again.  I heard that I need to calm it.  And then, when I was looking at my Zen Buddhist lesson, the following story was part of the learning.  Perhaps it applies to you, too.

A Japanese warrior was captured by his enemies and thrown into prison. That night he was unable to sleep because he feared that the next day he would be interrogated, tortured, and executed. Then the words of his Zen master came to him, "Tomorrow is not real. It is an illusion. The only reality is now." Heeding these words, the warrior became peaceful and fell asleep.
