Otters love the water and spend more time in the river than out of it. However, Otter always works to find ways to play. A favourite past time is to create a slide down the river bank. A little jump up, and Otter can land on its belly and slide down the muddy slide into the coolness of the water. If she is lucky, a fish is nearby and she can get a snack at the same time. Otter gives us some good lessons with her example of creative play.
- Although the water may be deep, diving right in is the best way to find the hidden treasures that lurk beneath the surface of the situation.
- Playing takes the stress out of staying alive.
- A fur coat does not indicate sophistication and seriousness; it just means that they are well dressed.
- Everyone takes their turn going down the slide. To do otherwise is to upset the natural order of Nature.
- A rock is a good place to sun yourself, but makes a terrible slide.
- Playfulness indicates spontaneity, and a creative spirit.
