Colour Boldly!

The Day God spilled the paint.......

This picture and the caption were in an email from a friend.  I don't know who the photographer was.  I do applaud him or her.

What this picture makes me think of is a child happily colouring without any thought to lines, form or whether the colours go together.  The beauty of the free flowing colours will not be for everyone.  Some will want more structure to the arrangement of the colours.  Others will want to have definite breaks between the colours.  That is the problem that we have with colouring - we think it needs to be done in a certain way - between the lines and with clarity about whether the colours are realistic for the object being coloured.

It is fun to see that Great Spirit doesn't have any restrictions about how colours are placed together, or how high up the mountain the colours can go.  It just happens!  What a great reminder to all of us to get outside our comfort zone and imagine and colour with abandon.  We need to colour boldly!

Happy colouring,
