Spirit Animal - Dragonfly

Picture of dragonfly from www.dailymail.co.uk

Although it is winter now in Calgary, emphasized by the six or seven inches of fresh snow, Dragonfly appeared in my meditation screen today.

Dragonfly has a lot of different legends associated with it.

For some Native American tribes they represent swiftness and activity, and for the Navajo they symbolize pure water. Dragonflies are a common motif in Zuni pottery; stylized as a double-barred cross, they appear in Hopi rock art and on Pueblo necklaces. – from Wikipedia

Dragonfly has come in to share some thoughts with us.

image We Dragonflies hang out along rivers, lakes, streams, swamps.  We are born at the bottom of the water, and like a spring, we move from the depths to the surface.  We transform, and fly away into the air, to rest on trees.  Is it time for you to transform something about yourself, or in your environment?

imageOur primary food is mosquito, and to provide variety, we like bees and ants.  We do not vary much from our diet.  We say to you that you need to be more selective in your diet.  Eat fresh food that you hunt yourself.  Avoid the fast foods because they are dead and filled with bacteria from much handling.  Bacteria is one of the beings that can stop Dragonfly.

imageDragonfly needs clean water to survive.  Some places are getting more Dragonflies because they are cleaning up the water, or increasing the water levels.  If we appear to you, we are telling you to increase your water intake.  Water makes things flow because it pushes the blocks aside.  Water flushes all that is stuck.  Drink more water and feel your body lighten up.
