The Power of Patience

image

The Power of Patience

A Long time ago, there was a son who was extraordinarily respectful to his father. On his deathbed the father said: “My son, you honored me in my life time and now you must honor me after my death. I command you, if you should ever be overcome by anger you should hold back your angry until the next morning.

After his father’s death, the son was forced to embark on a prolonged journey, which took him to distant lands for tens of years. Unbeknownst to him, the wife he left behind was expecting his child.

After his years of absence, the husband returned home unannounced, hoping to joyously surprise his wife. But as he approached his bedchamber he saw his wife embracing a handsome young man, a stranger. The husband became fiercely jealous and reached for his dagger - when he suddenly remembered the pledge he made to his father: He must hold back his rage overnight.

The next day he was shocked to discover that the young man in his wife’s embrace was none other than his own son, the child that his wife had borne during his long absence. The man was thus saved from tragically slaughtering his own family.

Energy–Thinking about the Circle

Today, as you move about the tasks that you need to perform, think about the ways that you move/work/plan in a circle.  How does it feel?

Energy - Taking Things Too Personally

image

Everyday, I see people that do not know how to deal with other people's opinions.  They see it as criticism or being put down.  These folks have never learned to separate coaching, criticism, and negative comments.  Everything is take personally.  They over react.  It makes them difficult to deal with and difficult to have as an employee.

As a generalization, this trait is dominant in people who are only children. Perhaps it is because they didn't have to share and get along with others, and there fore did not develop a "thicker skin" along the way. And yes, there are exceptions.  Remember, this is a generalization.

It takes a lot of time, kindness, trust, and willingness to change to alter the behavior.  Once the change is made, the individual seems to go on to achieve goals and to grow in abundance.

Many blessings.

Energy - Caution Signs

image

We are all used to traffic lights that have a green for go, red for stop, and yellow for caution.  What if we took all the good, practical sayings and put them in yellow, like caution signs?  Would we pay more attention to them?

Would it make a difference how we see and hear things like….?

  • If I'm not back in five minutes, just wait longer…
  • You are not your past.  You are free.  For you are, this instant, how you choose to be.
  • Things take time.  So just be patient.
  • Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.
  • Anger is only one letter short of Danger.
  • The bridge you burn now may be the one you have to cross later.
  • Troubles, like babies, grow large by nursing.
  • The trouble with most of us is that we would rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism.
  • Your time is limited so don't waste it on living someone else's life.

Most of us do not have caution or yield lights in our life. We barrel ahead based on an adrenaline rush or the red haze of anger.  (Just think for a minute about the red… which means – stop.) And we get ourselves into trouble.

Today, be mindful of the yellow caution signs, and stop for the red light.

Many blessings.

Energy - Believing in Self

image

It really is true that you have to believe in yourself or no one else will.  Self belief is wrapped around self confidence, being grateful all the time, feeling love for others and for yourself, being positive, and having a soul full of "I believe in me!".

There is a great deal of negative energy floating around that wants us to believe that we cannot complete tasks or achieve any goals without the help of some guru or coach or mentor.  While it is true that some people find it easier to achieve with that sort of help, they also find it easier to blame someone else if things go awry.

Today, sit down and have a talk with yourself.  Talk about how you believe in you, and what you can do.

Many blessings.

Energy - Pain In Your Body

image

I banged my knee on the corner of the bed when I was making it.  It bloody hurt, because I punctured the skin on the corner of the post.  Within fifteen minutes, I banged my head on the corner of the kitchen cupboards.  I never do that.  I couldn't figure out what happened.  The last straw was stubbing my toe on the step as I was going upstairs.  It hurt, and I never stub my toe, either.

What is going on?? I kept asking myself what was happening and what I was supposed to learn.  And then I got it!  I was not being mindful.  I was not paying attention to what I was doing.  Instead, I was allowing my mind to wander, and to distract me from the task at hand.  I am all attention, now.

Many blessings.

Energy - Be Positive

imageEvery time that we start over, we need to learn to be positive again.  It is a difficult thing – to learn to be positive.  We have years of ingrained training inside us to please others, to fear change, to deny our gifts, and to over think everything.

When we begin a new part of our life, we need to please our self and to push for change.  We need change to break out of our rut.  We can stop looking at the past because it is in the rearview mirror, and we do not need to care about it.  Ignore the comments, "Look what happened to…".

As we begin, we need to find ways to build ourselves up.  It is a new way of thinking for us.  It is a time to for us to look at our gifts and strengths, and use them.

Many blessings.

Energy - Stretching

Stretching For Energy

Have you ever watched a cat or a dog after they have awakened from a deep sleep, or even from a nap? The first thing they do is to stretch. And, it is not just a little stretch, it is a front paw, open jaw yawn, gut arranging, to the back paw stretch. The stretch energizes the muscles as fresh oxygen rushes through the blood and muscles. How may of us take time to stretch like this in the morning?

Do give yourself permission to stretch for energy and health each morning and when you need a break during the day. Start with your toes and stretch them wide apart. Stretch your calves, knees, and thighs. Stretch your abdomen and hips by sucking your gut in and out with a deep inhale and exhale. Stretch your ribs and stomach by arching backwards and extending your arms over your head and backwards. Then tilt your head back and yawn. The first couple of times that you stretch really hard, you may hear tendons creak, and you might even see stars! This is a good indicator that you really need this regular stretch. Think about adding stretching to your New Year’s resolutions.

Many blessings.

Energy - Beyond Abundance

image

Are you caught up in the battle to earn a living doing a job you don’t particularly like? Are you feeling slightly desperate trying to ensure that you have enough money for your family? Are you wondering whether your job is “good enough” to provide the income you need? Well, you are not alone in this feeling. Millions of people across North America get out of bed each morning and travel to work at something that they dislike. Because they are not happy, the effect cascades through their lives and the lives of their family. Just like the water in the Cascading Falls wears down the rock over time, the spirit is eroded by the feeling of futility and depression.

Why do so many people fall into the trap of living in a fashion that may earn them money but leaves them feeling unfulfilled? Most people are unaware that there is anything in life beyond satisfying the safety and security issues. They have not heard that there is tremendous abundance in the universe and that this abundance is available to all. For examples of abundance, look into nature. A tree produces more than just one leaf or one piece of fruit. Most vegetables produce more than one pod or bean or ear. The idea behind producing this abundance is that there is some to reproduce with and keep growing and there is some to give away. This is nature’s way of showing what is beyond abundance – that is, GENEROSITY.

When one fulfills what is needed to be happy and comfortable, when a person feels like they have excess - that is the time to show one’s abundance by giving to others. Have you noticed that even the people deemed the richest in the world give away a good portion of their wealth? Bill Gates, Oprah, Bono to name a few. Even Warren Buffet, the second richest man in the world, according to Forbes Magazine, gave his wealth to Bill Gate’s Foundation because he believed in the good work that the Gates’ were doing. When people are generous, it restores their spirit if they do it from the heart. When they do it because they want the accolades and want to be noticed, the act becomes part of the quest for security, and continues the erosion of the integrity.

People who seem to make lots of money, but don’t share it or share some of it grudgingly, do not seem to find the same peace as those who give generously. It does seem that one of the major differences between the “have” nations and the “have-not” nations is the degree that the wealthy of the country, on a per capita basis, donate to charitable causes or to where the help is needed. The have-not countries do not contribute back, but keep pulling the wealth from the land and the people, and from organizations that move in to try and help improve the overall situation. It seems that where activities out of integrity have been happening for a long time, the earth is rising up and taking back its generosity. Some recent examples are the Tsunami in 2004 and various earthquakes, floods and volcanoes in many third world countries. Time is a constrained resource and yet in the prosperous nations, people are willing to donate their time - that is to volunteer, for various activities from fund raising to working for free (planting trees in reforestation efforts, Habitat For Humanity, coaching, church fundraisers, delivering baskets to those families that need them, to name a few activities). Nations that do not have the wealth also do not have the same level of volunteerism. One could argue that they have a much harder time simply living. However, there does seem to be a correlation between how well people look after others through volunteerism and those that simply look after themselves.

The main point is that by recognizing that abundance already exists, and spreading that abundance through generosity, all people become part of the activity of making abundance. This abundance then circles back to all in the form of more abundance. The circle represents spiritual realms in sacred geometry. Therefore, when one goes beyond abundance, into generosity, one does the work of spirit. And, that is as it should be. And, it is.

Energy - Job This Year

image
Everyone seems to wonder what their purpose or job is – the purpose of their life.  I think that it changes from time to time, depending on what is going on in the world.  I hear mystics talking about all the things that need to be done this year to change the tide of negative energy.
I think that the number one job this year for all of us is to keep our cool and to bring peace and calm to where ever we are.  Calmness inspires others.  It gives one an identity.  It brings healing to anger and aggression.  With calmness, we can show kindness and positivity.  It is a chance to change our environment.
If we each change our environment, then eventually, the environments will link together to form a net of calmness and peace.
Many blessings.

Energy - Do What You Were Going To Do

image

This is the start of a new year.  You have had dreams and ideas about how to change your life.  This is a beginning.  It is a great time to make changes.  Sometimes, before we can move on to something different, we have to learn to let go of what we have.  We don't have to do it in one big stroke of letting go.  We can do it in small, baby steps.

Learning to live life to the fullest is the biggest change most of us will make this year.  We know that we can achieve anything.  The Archangels and Angels have told us so.  The rest is up to us.  We can ask for help along the way, but, we do need to let go of our ego.

So when someone offers you a bunch of "free" advice, smile, agree, and move on!

Many blessings.

Energy - Smiling

image

The Angels say that smiling was a gift given to humanity to help them change their emotional thermometer.  It seems when the Earth was dark and the vibration very low, humans, such as they were, gave off an angry, aggressive vibration.

For mankind to progress, the Angels say, the humans needed to be able to raise their vibration to pull in the small rays of light that were beaming to Earth.  The Angels pondered the problem.  They tried to give humans games, songs, and other activities to raise their spirits.  Nothing worked.

The Angels took their problem out to the Universe and asked what might change the humans so that they were not so angry and aggressive.  The Universe, in turn, pondered the problem, and determined that a physiological solution was required.  The Universe realized that the humans needed to have some kind of self worth and needed to feel tranquility, and perhaps contentment.  Further, the humans needed to be able to express that they were not angry or feeling like fighting.

The Universe decided on some physiological adjustments to the human DNA.  One of the mechanics placed in the DNA was the ability to change the face muscles to shift upward to show a relaxed countenance.  And, the Universe shifted the DNA to include some emotion and self awareness.  Over several generations, humans began to smile to show that they were content and happy with themselves and with each other.

Happy New Year 2018

image

I wish one and all a very happy and prosperous 2018!

I thank all of you who have followed my blog since its inception in 2006. And thank you to each of you who took the time to send me emails or phone me to encourage me to keep going.  We are all a team.

This year, I believe we will see more big changes in life around the world.  We will all experience roller-coaster-like emotional swings as wonderful things and tragedies occur.  We will each need to be able to ground and center and find that ability to be the observer and not get caught up in the drama. It is a tall order.

Remember to reach out to friends and family for help when you need it.

Many blessings.
