Spirit Animal - Raven’s Joke

image

This picture shows RAVEN, the Trickster, with my package of cashews.  Roger and I were sitting in the sun on the patio at Lake Moraine, soaking up some energy.  Different birds were hopping down to chat with us.  This very large Raven came and sat on the railing.  Then, he hopped on the table and chatted.  While I was distracted looking at something that Roger was pointing at, RAVEN hopped right over and took the package out of my hand and hopped to the railing.  He proceeded to rip open the package and eat all my cashews.

His message was very clear.

  • To get what you want, you sometimes have to distract those who hold the power.
  • Go after what you want, even if it takes some time.
  • When you have what you want, retreat to a safe place.

The Energy of Lake Moraine

image

image

One of the most beautiful places on Earth, I think, is Lake Moraine.  It is snuggled into the valley of the ten peaks slightly south of Lake Louise.  We were here today, and it was cold.  Snow has already started falling in the mountains.  Water along the path was frozen.

The strong energy comes from the vortex created by the ten peaks.  Nature is quiet and still here. If you are lucky enough to be there when there are not bus tours, you can feel the Oneness.  I sat on the edge of the lake and meditated.  This time did my Soul good.

Angels Speak–Find a Healing Place

This is the mountain ash that sits in our backyard.  We call it our healing place because when you sit in the rocking seats, you sit very close to the second chakra of the tree.  We are grateful that Mother Earth created the mountain ash which is also called the Rowan Tree.

We have had friends come to the door to ask to sit in our backyard, in our arbour, under the tree.  They find that they can release stress, anger, and hopelessness, if they have something going on in their lives.

Right now, our mountain ash is preparing for winter.  She is drawing in to preserve her energy.  The birds come and sit in the top of the tree.  It is peaceful.

Spirit Animal - Pelican

image

I took the dogs out into the park, and I was lucky enough to catch this flock of Pelicans contemplating their day.  Although it is late September, they are still hanging out here, enjoying the warm weather.  Any day now, they will fly through the mountains and head back to the west coast.

The Pelicans are used to seeing me several times a week.  They watch us and continue what ever they are doing.  Pelican, with its orange bill and feet, white and black feathers, and ability to fly and swim and dive, are really saying, “Pay attention to your emotions.  You need to look at the various memories that you have with your life and make peace with those memories.  Do not replay them all the time.  Your mind distorts the memories.”

Talking About Karma

image

image

Last night, we had a meditation circle at our house.  The theme that we worked with was clearing the karma from this life, backwards and forwards in time, across all levels, planes, and dimensions.

We had quite an impressive list of karma to clear and heal.  The list included:

  • fear of standing in my power
  • fear of taking my place as a leader
  • fear of what other people think
  • releasing need to judge
  • releasing need to compare

…the list goes on.

Over fifteen minutes, we worked through the list.  We felt rapid shifts of energy that left goose bumps on our arms.

We celebrated.

Angels Speak - Clear Your Head

image

I want some time alone.

I want to hear the silence.

I do not need to hear the sound of traffic, the hum of voices, or the ringing of phones.

I would like to be in a place where there is only the sound of the water or the rustle of the breeze in the trees.

Some bird song is welcome.

I would like to feel the Sun warm my hair, my face, my hands and arms.

I would like to feel the gentle rocking of Mother Earth.

This is serenity.

I am able to see clearly.

I feel my breath.

I feel whole.

Angels Speak - Take A Deep Breath

image

I keep hearing from different people that they are having panic attacks.  A panic attack seems to occur when a person feels that they are not able to cope with what is going on around them.

The Angels say that it is a shortage of breath.  That is, the person forgets to breath, or, breathes so shallowly that the body feels that it is suffocating.  Therefore, panic occurs.  It is the same panic as flight or fight.

The Angels say to breathe.  Take a deep breath.  Expand your lungs to feel the wonder of the the breath. Hold the breath for a count of ten, if you can.   Feel how it nourishes you… spiritually and physically. Feel your soul respond. You are connected to the Oneness of everything.  It is in our Nature to breath deeply.  Do so now.

Angels Speak - Learning

image

It seems that when many of us finish our high school or university, that we forget that learning is a lifetime necessity.  We are always learning new technologies.  We are learning new routes through new developments.  We are learning new ways to watch TV as we replace the old cablevision with Netflix or Shomi.  We constantly need to learn.  Even buying a new vehicle in this decade means we need to learn a completely different dashboard then what was in cars even ten years ago.

As the poster says, many people see new challenges as a storm.  They are fearful of it.  They worry that the change will destroy the peace that they felt with the old situation.  The rain storm brings new nutrients and new moisture to the planet.  It fills up the vegetation and keeps the rivers flowing.

Learning is our rainstorm.

Angels Speak - Be Where YOU Are

image

This poster speaks to the business of the mind.  Where ever we are, we are thinking about what we need to do, where we need to go, and where we have been.

To allow ourselves to be where we are, we must take a deep breath and become aware.  We need to leave the past with yesterday.  We need to see and feel where we are with clarity.  We need to allow this moment to be part of us.  The moment gives us great strength.

To be aware give us command of the present moment.  We can use it to calm our worry.  We can use it to ease stress.

Angels Speak - About Pride

image

This blog is a follow up to http://angelsandancestors.blogspot.ca/2015/09/angels-speak-agreeing-with-me.html.

PRIDE -  dictionary.reference.com/browse/pride

  • a high or inordinate opinion of one's own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority, whether as cherished in the mind or as displayed in bearing, conduct, etc. the state or feeling of being proud. a becoming or dignified sense of what is due to oneself or one's position or character; self-respect; self-esteem.

HUMILITY -  dictionary.reference.com/browse/humility

  • the state or quality of being humble. Word Origin and History for humility Expand. n. early 14c., from Old French umelite "humility, modesty, sweetness," from Latin humilitatem (nominative humilitas) "lowness, insignificance," in Church Latin "meekness," from humilis "humble" (see humble).

These days, we have nothing to reference to show a shining example of humility.  Most people are caught up in their own legend about what they have done and how they have done it.  Everyday people, not just celebrities, have a pride thing going on.

We are taught to stand in our power, to be proud of where we came from and how we got there.  We have racial pride, religious pride, national(ality) pride, athletic pride, family pride, and even school pride.

Angels Speak - Agreeing With Me

image

It seems foolish to want everyone to agree with you.  If all thought you were right, all exploration of different thought and thus, new discoveries, would end!

Who cares if you are right?  It is more important that you think through your view and that it feels comfortable in your skin rather than in your ego.

Being right makes no one happy.  Being right brings responsibility.

Being right or needing to be right does not give you permission to control others.  It is not a license to destroy people’s happy lives, tribal beliefs, or to through away things that have already been done, invented, or created.

Who do you disagree with?

Angels Speak - Seeing Beauty In Flowers

image

There is beauty in all aspects of Nature for me.  Not everyone agrees that Nature is beautiful, but they do agree that parts of it are.  I love seeing the flowers that grow in people’s yards and the flowers out in the meadows of the parks.  The colors are amazing.

The flowers, too, bring some healing to those who see them and look at them with awe and respect.  To be a flower is a very special task.  The growing season is so short, unless the flower is a perennial, and there is no telling when your flowers will be picked or eaten.

Flowers have a message for us:

  • Don’t be afraid to shine your colours.
  • Stand straight to get the Sun but be flexible when the wind blows.
  • Put your roots down deep so that you can be sure of your foundation.

Tarot Discussion - Talking About “The Rebel” card from OSHO deck

image

Many people use the Osho tarot deck or the iPhone app to help get feedback on their lives or to help them find a suitable meditation topic for the day.

A while ago, I wrote about THE REBEL card.

Tarot Discussion – What Does Mankind Need to Watch for In Feb 2010

A reader emailed me with some questions about The REBEL card.  With her permission, I am using her name and repeating the email conversation.  I am grateful to Dianne for asking the question, and for allowing me to share this discussion.

Namaste.

---------------------------------------------------------

Email from Dianne:

I read you piece on The Rebel of Osho's Zen Tarot.  Thank you for your site.

I love Osho's stuff and his Tarot set too!

I am rather confused however about how The Rebel relates to its equivalent card in traditional tarot, The Emperor.

I did a reading of 5 cards:  Situation,  Past Influences, How I really feel, What others are thinking, environment etc, Probably outcome.

Under Control as my initial card for 'others view'etc, I added three more cards, and one of them was The Rebel, the final one.  The others were Guilt and Politics.

Given the situation, question which was actually about my previous therapist with whom things went rather awry and resulted in the mental health authority treating me quite

Harshly, I asked the question:   "Will there be an effective seeking for closure from DW (the therapist within the mental healht organisation).. in the near future?"  ( I have felt very traumatized by events, and victimized)...

Can you help me make sense of The Rebel, as it seems so different from the Emperor?  To me the Emperor is very controlling, restricting, and full of rules and structures, whereas the Rebel has a much more positive feel.  As it relates to the people who have caused so much trauma to me, how can I see the Rebel as pertinent?

Thank you.

Judy’s Response:

Dear Dianne,

This response has taken me a while to do.  Your email made me think, a lot! :)  I believe that therapists are teachers, like all the other people in our lives... including me.  Teachers help us to learn about boundaries, I think.

First, REBEL comes up a lot for me.  Rebel is about getting out of being controlled by Organizations, Religion, Politics, and other people.  Rebel is about being your own person... owning your issues, events in your life, and the drama in your life.  It is about "seeing" the lesson in each event.  While it is lovely to say that an event is not your fault, and we are victims of time and place and circumstances - staying the victim will leave you to be controlled by others.

The OSHO Tarot is not to be a match to a traditional tarot other than the number of cards and the similarity in layouts.  Each Tarot deck with its particular background is about possibilities.  For me, different decks are like layers of understanding.  If decks were ranked one out of ten, with zero being a low ranking and ten being the highest, I would say the WAITE deck is a two, and the OSHO deck is a six.   Remember that Tarot is also a form of teaching.  It is to expand our thinking, not to control our lives.  Sometimes, it points us on the path that we need to travel.

I thought that your question was quite relevant to the energy going on right now, and I would like to share your question and my answer on the blog.  Do I have your permission to do that if I leave out your name?  If you want me to include your name, I will.

Angels Speak - Finding the Balance

image

I love being out in the park in the morning.  I love the smell of the dew on the grass and the smell of apples dropping along the park fence from some neighbouring house’s yard.  I love the Deer roaming the grassland as they navigate slowly back to Poplar Island for the day.

I love that the different plants like dandelions and thistles are moving through their flower to seed phases.  I pick the fluff and make a wish and blow it to the four directions.  In sending the wishes out on the air, I invoke the probabilities of different ways of fulfilling the wish.

Angels Speak - Ego and Spirit–The Difference

image

In this decade, Ego is very prominent in politics, religion, media, and even in technology.  We are entranced with “selfies”.  We twitter about the minutiae of what we are doing on an hourly basis.  We want people to see us and to be aware of us, and we want to do things.  We are stuck in the idea that we are important to other people.

Ego is caught up in drama.  We want to create a scene.  We want people to choose sides.  We want others to say, “Look at him/her/them.”

And all the while, we need peace.  Our soul and spirit wants us to be quiet and attentive to what goes on around us.

Angels Speak - What Do You Need?

image

Have you ever thought, “I need something..”.

Then, as you think about it, you don’t know what you need?  This happens to all of us.  What we can do now, is we can decide what we need and set manifestation into motion.

Generally though, we don’t hold on to the idea and truth of what we need long enough for it to become an action in the Universe.

Sometimes, we are like butterflies going from flower to flower, as we skip from the idea of I need this or I need that or…

We can have what we need.

Angels Speak - One Step At A Time

image

The Angels tell us that each day is a blessing.  Further, we can do everything as one big step through the day, or we can break our day in to small steps to be savoured and used to bolster the rest of the day.

We do not have to hurry.

We can be ourselves.

We can share it with others.

We can be mellow.

Buddha Speaks - Slow Down

image

School is back in session.  The political campaigning is in full gear.  Everything is fast and everyone wants to go faster!  We are in a rut of rushing!

This little poster has a big message.  Slow Down!  Relax.  Change.  Become more peaceful.

September 2015

image

As we move into FALL, many of us with gardens in our back yards, or where ever, are looking at food preparation.  Our Ancestors canned fruit, vegetables, and even chicken, beef, and ham.

We have come to rely on large factories to do our canning for us.  We get additives in “store bought” food that we would not add on our own.

Good food feeds our body and our soul.  Clean food keeps us young. Canning is good to support our Free Will.

Here are some favourite recipes for the fall.

Easy Refrigerator Pickles

  • 6 cups thinly sliced pickling cucumbers (about 2 pounds)
  • 2 cups thinly sliced onion
  • 1 1/2 cups white vinegar
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced

Preparation

Place 3 cups cucumber in a medium glass bowl; top with 1 cup onion. Repeat procedure with the remaining 3 cups cucumber and remaining 1 cup onion.

Combine vinegar and remaining ingredients in a small saucepan; stir well. Bring to a boil; cook 1 minute. Pour over cucumber mixture; let cool. Cover and chill at least 4 days.

Note: Pickles may be stored in the refrigerator for up to one month.

I sterilize the jars and seal them, and put them in my cold storage.  Good now until Christmas!

Zucchini Muffins

  • 3 cups all purpose flour (I use gluten free flour and add Xanthum Gum)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup vegetable/canola oil
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups shredded zucchini, thawed if frozen
  • Optional: 1 cup chocolate chips and/or ½ cup chopped walnuts and/or pineapple or banana
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or spray with baking spray.
  2. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In separate large bowl, whisk eggs, oil, milk, lemon juice, vanilla and zucchini.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry and stir just until completely combined (it's best to do this by hand to avoid over-mixing, which results in tough muffins).
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and/or walnuts if using.
  6. Divide batter over 12 muffin cups - they will be full! Bake for 22-26 minutes, until tops are golden and toothpick comes out clean from centers. Let sit in pan 3-5 minutes before removing to rack to cool completely.
  7. Best served fresh, or freeze extras, well wrapped or in an airtight container, and thaw or reheat as needed.
