We have now been hearing for about five weeks about the oil spill in the Gulf of New Mexico, from the BP oil well that is still pumping oil.
I wondered what the area involved would look like. I found this picture. It makes me feel sad to look at it, and to see that all the sea life in this area, and any of the wildlife that is on the land touching the area because they will be harmed by this blackness.
I was listening to the news, and it seems that something quite similar happened back in 1979. An oil rig gushed into the Gulf. Thirty or so years later, it has happened again.
The good news is that the Gulf, and the marine, plant and wild life did recover. Nature is truly resilient, and humans are no less resilient! We too can recover from what ever blackness or darkness affects us.
It is almost like the blackness in the water is a reflection of the blackness in the air, the ashes, caused by the volcano erupting in Iceland. Both situations will have long term effects, and both situations will be overcome.
There is a certain peace in knowing that everything comes back to balance.
