Angels Speak– The Only Change That Matters Is The Change You See In Yourself

image

The Angels tell us that many things in life change.  Change is a constant.  They also tell us to beware of the people who do not want us to change.

Stopping us from changing, from growing, is a control tactic used by many to keep their world the same.  They don't want you to change because it means that they may need to change to keep pace with you and with others.  That puts pressure on them.  They feel uncomfortable.  They blame you.

Know that nothing is your fault.  Cause and effect are a physical law.

Angels Speak - Understanding The Anger

image

Anger is about our ego feeling that we have been betrayed and/or hurt in some way, say the Angels.  We need to find out about our own anger, and why we feel anger at our self before we can see our anger at others.  Remember, the outward reflection is from the inside of us.

When we learn to forgive our self, then, moving on to forgive others becomes so much easier.  Anger is manifested by the escalation of emotion around one or several topics that you and another are dealing with.  If things do not go your way, you become angry.  And, so does the other person.  Most often anger erupts between couples.

What are your triggers, and why are you being triggered at that moment?  What is the lesson to be learned.

Angels Speak - Be Kind–Always!

image

The Angels tell us that being kind is the way to make sure that you accept someone or to accept a situation.  Remember that the person who is abrupt or rude may have just lost a loved one.  Or, perhaps they have found out that they have a major illness.  And, yes, some people are just rude.

You do not have to be rude as a response.  Simply be kind.  If you do behave as they do, then that action will come back on you, as well.  It is easy to give everyone the benefit of kindness.

Angels Speak - It Is Your Life

image

What you do with your life is nobody's business.  What others do with their life is not your business.  We all have plenty to do without minding other people's business… the exception is if you are a supervisor or manager, etc. at work, then you do need to be mindful about what your team is doing.

Life is not always black and white although it would be so much easier if everything could be clearly defined as right or wrong.  That is the thing.. though.. it is never quite clear.  Why?  Well, to make us use our judgement and to think things through so that we operate on a level of the greatest and highest good.  That is not so easy to do.  Most of us cannot achieve that kind of clarity.

Think about something that you wonder about – the rightness and the wrongness of it, and see what pops up for you.

Angels Speak - Aspects of Life

image

Live your life with Confidence is what the Angels say.  Because, they say, you will meet every aspect of life.  If you did not have these opportunities to grow, life would be dull and humans would not grow and thrive.

Perhaps this is a good day to sit down and journal about the the times that you have overcome, or served, or even dared.  Maybe you need to write about what you have learned, and how you have grown this year compared to last year.

Spirit Speaks - Meaning of Life

image

For those who have asked about the meaning of life and what their gift is, I post this poster for you.

Each of us comes to Earth to learn and grow.  Over time, we may see changes in our selves, or not.  We develop a belief system that honors Creator, or not.  We live our life.  Some become spiritual and others do not.  Some of us stand out, and others do not.  We follow the path we create as we live.  It is a mystery how it all moves in a direction that provides us with what we need.

More on Meditation

image

I just love the poster above!  I am a big fan of Google.  But, I will have to admit, that even Google cannot answer everything.

Sometimes, sitting in meditation, you will hear and see things that will simply amaze you.  It will not happen on Day 1 or even Day 100.  It will happen.

Sometimes a meditation is a little prayer or wish.  We were wishing we had a Lindt chocolate bar to take to the hospital for his Mom as she asked for one.  I sorted through the mail and opened a care package (because I care package) from my sister.  In it was a Lindt chocolate bar that we could take to the hospital without having to stop at the store.  Little miracles.

Spirit Speaks–Meditation For Life

image

Meditation is the ability to be able to focus on an idea, a saying, a situation, a prayer, or on the great knowingness in the Universe.  Some say prayer is you speaking to God and that meditation is God speaking to you.  What it is does not matter.

What matters is that when you meditate, little changes happen.  You become more at ease and peaceful.  Life seems to flow more smoothly.  All the changes are good.  Osho says that you can meditate five minutes a day and receive benefits.

What is frustrating you today?  What is making you feel sad or angry?  Are you feeling hurt?  Try a little quiet time with yourself.

Spirit Animal–Grizzly Bear on Life

image

Grizzly Bear has been popping up all over the place in my life recently.  Grizzly comes in to talk about freedom and how one must be planning now, on how to preserve the freedom to come and go as we please.

Grizzly also talks about having enough food to sustain one's self.

Spirit Speaks–Questing for Knowledge

image

The idea of questing, or of searching, goes back to ancient times.  Our Ancestors understood that some people had a need to find out new information and to find new things.  Today, when we quest, we often have a map to guide us, or perhaps GPS.

Think about how difficult it must have been to be a man or a woman (think Joan of Arc) to leave what you knew, and to follow the spiritual guidance of your soul to be in service to the Greater Good.  Picture yourself being guided by the stars and planets to go someplace that was only a name to you.

Through out time, people have travelled or quested to sacred shrines to ask for healing for themselves or for another.  People have quested to see the other side of the mountain or the other side of the ocean.  The common theme is the deep hunger to learn something new or to do something different.  Now, the quest is to take settlers to the Moon or to Mars.

Today, do you have a quest that is calling you?

Angels Speak–Community Supports You

image

The Angels tell us that it is a BLESSING to be surrounded by a caring community.  The community that you choose to be part of does not need to be where you were born; it is where you feel comfortable and where you find acceptance.

Often we need to go out and find our community.  It is the community that communicates with you in words and symbols that you understand.  It is the community that shows you compassion and teaches you to feel compassion in new ways for others.

Community is the non-formal place that teaches us about being a "human" being.

Angels Speak–Caring For Yourself Everyday

image

"There is an Indian proverb that says that everyone is a house with four rooms, a physical, a mental, an emotional, and a spiritual . Unless we go into every room every day we are not a complete person.”

We are moving into a time where it seems that we do not take care of our Emotional and Spiritual needs very well because we are so busy being MENTAL and engaging at work, with technology, and with entertainment, that all we have time to do is the basics for our PHYSICAL well being.

I love that phrase "well being".  Are you a well being?  Or, are you a being that is just coping with everything and starting to fall behind?  How do you know if you are falling behind?  Are you tired all the time?  Do you get frequent colds or flu?  Do you want to hibernate when you are done work for the day?

Buddha Speaks–Walking Meditation

   image

This post is for the several people that have asked me about walking meditation.  There are many books and articles about walking meditation.  However, these are the most complete instructions that I have seen in a long while.

Take a look at the ten steps and see if they make sense to you.

Namaste

Guide To Walking Meditation:
  1. You can take up walking in a line or a circular path. You can cover the same path several times or take 10-15 steps forward and 10-15 steps backward. You can start walking and continue it for five minutes and then return.
  2. You have to stand up in a straight position. Make sure that the spine is upright, but you shouldn’t be making an effort to stiffen the back. Your feet should be firmly grounded to distribute the body weight evenly.
  3. In this technique, curl your left-hand thumb in and wrap your fingers around the thumb. Raise your left hand and rest it on the belly button. Wrap your right hand around the left hand; the right thumb should rest in the gap that is formed between the left thumb and your index finger.
  4. You can drop your gaze slightly while walking. It will help you focus while walking. Also, if you look a few steps ahead, it will give a different feel.
  5. Now, take out your left foot. Try to feel it and start swinging. The heel should touch the ground. Feel it. Now feel the ball and then the toes.
  6. Now, take out the right foot and try to feel it. Start swinging it. Feel the heel touching the ground, then the ball and lastly the toes.
  7. Walk at a constant speed, little slower than your normal speed, but not too slow. If you get distracted, bring your attention back to normal. 3
  8. While you are walking, pay attention to how each foot is in direct contact with the surface.
  9. Now observe the things around. Listen to the sounds and smell the things surrounding you. Do not try to differentiate the smells that you like and dislike. Just make yourself aware of everything around you.
  10. At the end of the meditation practice, you’ll be able to notice a difference in your everyday morning walk. Walking meditation is a simple technique and anyone can perform it.

What Does Namaste Mean?

image

This post is for all of the readers that have asked me what Namaste means and why I use this word at the end of each post.

I believe the poster explains the Oneness and how we are all linked as one.  I use this word because each day I see a growing global community that has the same goals, needs, and love for their fellow man.

I hope that when readers glance over a blog post, that they feel some of what I feel (we are one) and that life becomes a bit sweeter for a time because they read the post.

I like these words from the Eric Clapton song, "Change The World".

"If I could reach the stars
Pull one down for you,
Shine it on my heart
So you could see the truth:"

Buddha Speaks - Meditation Benefits You

image

There is a lot of stress in Alberta these days – raging fires, falling oil and gas prices for the raw product while the cost of gas at the pump goes up, and, unemployment and job instability. People are feeling uneasy, tense, anxious, and angry.

While everyone is grateful for what they have, everyone is wondering what the future will hold.  Several people that I have talked to have started meditating early in the morning because it brings them peace.

Buddha Speaks - Your Thoughts

image

Did you know that your thoughts create your reality, that is, the situations around you?  Did you know that what you think is what will happen?  The darker the thoughts, the darker the incidents in one's life.

Many experiments have been done around the power of belief.  The best known example is how scientists can influence the outcome of experiments that they are doing.  When the outcome is as they expected, the events in the experiment become a "self fulfilling prophecy".  In other words, what they believed they would get are the results that showed up.  More fascinating is that scientists that did the same experiment and had a different belief around the outcome, did get different results than the first group of scientists.  This has spawned the saying, "What you believe is what you get."

Thought is communication with one's self.  How do you change it?  How do you move past your current belief system?  There are many self help tools out in the world that can help you with this change.  The big factor in any change is that you must want to do a change.

The question now is, "What do you believe to be true about yourself, and how is that working for you?"

Spirit Speaks - Suffering and Choices

image

We all know people that hang on to their suffering.  You might be one who keeps their suffering like a mantle of protection.  As long as it is in place, you do not need to take on anything new.

Do you know how much suffering will shorten your life span and your ability to see the joy in life?  Probably not!  And, you will wonder why happiness/peace/joy does not exist in your life.  You see it around you.

That you recognize joy in other's lives is a good thing.  It shows that you have not yet caved into the whole suffering as a way of life.  Right now, it is only part of your life.

You have time to change, to move forward to the next phase of your life.

What will you choose?
