Spirit Animal - Robin Sings It Is Home

                                              image

This week, our mountain ash tree was filled with robins.  Robin, who has nested in our yard for ten years, hopped from the branch it was on, into the air, and settled on the back of the deck bench, where Roger and I often sit.  She and her mate, who joined her, sang about the long journey they completed, and how happy they were to be back home.  She sang of storms – winds that forced them to shelter, and rain, and snow.  She sang about being blown off course and having to find their way back to the right place to come home.

Robin sang of the abundance of being at home.  Food is provided and there is safety for them.  She sang of all the reasons that each person in the world needs a home to return to.  She said that wandering is exciting for a while, however, there is a place that holds one’s heart, and that we yearn to return to.

There was a wisdom to her song that was a celebration of all life.  We felt very lucky to have her sing the song to us.

Blessings,

Judy
