Picture of birds attacking climber comes from an email from my friend, Aleda.
Often, when animals attack us when we are doing something that we think is acceptable, they are actually sending us a warning that we should turn back for our own good. Although the picture shows a rather horrifying vision of a modern Hitchcock’s “The Birds” movie, in reality, we have a human going into the birds’ territory, and perhaps, where they have young. Who wouldn’t be upset?
We have all heard stories about dogs knocking down people or biting them or hanging on to them to keep the person from going some direction that will lead to trouble. When a dog does this, we may get agitated, however, we will always say “Good dog!”. When nondomestic animals interact in an aggressive way with us, we tend to say that they are dangerous and should be destroyed.
I often wonder why people ignore warnings. Every year, out here in the Rocky Mountains, lives are lost because skiers or snowmobilers or hikers go outside the posted boundaries of an area. They ignore the warning signs, and often end up under an avalanche triggered by their activity. The Rescue Services and volunteers are tied up, sometimes for days, hunting for people that ignored a warning.
When we ignore warnings, we create unbalanced energy, or karma. What karma may you have created today?
