The Crystal Skulls – Working With Them

This is a picture of the Crystal Skulls on my altar.

          Crystal Skulls picture Copyright 2009 Judith Hirst
Today, I facilitated my first workshop on working with your crystal skulls. (www.angelsandancestors.com/workshop.html#skull)I know that interest in skulls has surged since 2006, and particularly after “Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull” movie.  What I learned today is that there is a community of people and skulls that needs to work with Planet Earth, and with each other, to help keep the energy flowing so that the energy is not redirected for the purpose of controlling it.
I also learned that the communication from a Crystal Skull is a much higher vibration than from a raw or polished crystal.  In the transformation to skull shape, something new becomes engaged.
My Norse Ancestors did not have a lot of soil for burials of family members or leaders of the tribes/villages.  Often, they were put in cairns or caves.  Generally, each house had a small shrine to the ancestor, and often the skull of the most revered ancestor was part of the shrine.  The skull provided guidance and protection for the family.  In some of the old stories, the skull on the shrine gathered up the wisdom of all those that were deceased, and kept that oral history alive.
Perhaps that is why, now, when some of the old traditions are becoming new again, we are ready to “listen” to the wisdom stored in the skulls.

Spirit Animal – Bee Healing

image

On Christmas Day, a cold started in my body. Not only did
it slow me down but it actually put me flat on my back
quite a few days. I know that a cold is a sign that you are
clearing something on all three levels of body, mind and
spirit. However, when my throat became quite sore, I was
mostly concerned with the physical. Nothing seemed to
either clear or soothe my throat. Then I remembered that
when I was little, Mom used to give me a spoonful of
honey when I had a sore throat. So, I tried that solution,
and “Presto” after several spoonfuls of honey, my throat
started to clear up.

When I was growing up, my only concern about a bee was
whether it was near me, and whether it would sting me. When I started studying Egyptian Magick, I discovered that the lowly bee (in my mind) was really an exalted friend and provider for the ancient Egyptian culture. In fact, the nobility were buried with most of their possessions, slaves, and large urns of honey. When
the archaeologists have excavated these tombs, and opened the honey, it had crystallized but was without mould or spoilage. I thought this was pretty amazing. The article went on to talk about how the honey was used for healing.

Early in 2001, my interest in the bee was renewed when my husband Roger explained that he always has wanted to be a bee-keeper. I decided that I needed to investigate this little insect. As I started the research, I found that the oldest bee is believed to be 100 million years old. (That’s relatively young compared to the shark which is believed to be 450 million years old.)

Through it has changed somewhat over the years, the bee still produces a nourishing, healing honey that is pretty much unrivalled as food and healer. The antiseptic properties of honey make it a natural healer for wounds by protecting the wound from infection and decreasing the swelling. As I experienced
through my cold, honey destroys mucus from the cold virus. Honey is also recommended for treating indigestion and heart or high blood pressure ailments.

A few facts that I learned in my quest are:

  • that bees do indeed create honey that is healing.
  • Bees are so sensitive to environmental toxins that they die
    and do not carry the poison to the hive. Therefore, the honey is without toxins.
  • Honey in the bath water is relaxing and is recommended to relieve insomnia.
  • Although it is high in calories, athletes use it as a
    quick “pick-me-up”.
  • Honey produced in one’s local area is a prescribed remedy for hay fever.

Don’t take my word for all these remedies. I suggest that you buy some honey and try “bee healing” on yourself and family. Honey really does take the “sting” out of a wound. Oh yes, and “bee” happy!

Spirit Animal – Seagull Rescues Seamen

This wonderful story was sent to me in an email by my friend Lise. It is a gentle tale that brought tears to my eyes.

              ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Picture of Seagull from FreeFoto.com
It happened every Friday evening, almost without fail, when the sun  resembled a giant orange and was starting to dip into the blue ocean. Old  Ed came strolling along the beach to his favourite pier.  Clutched in his bony hand was a bucket of shrimp.  Ed walks out to the end of the pier, where it seems he almost has the world to himself.  The glow of the sun is a golden bronze now.
Everybody's gone, except for a few joggers on the beach.  Standing out on the end of the pier, Ed is alone with his thoughts...and his bucket of shrimp. Before long, however, he is no longer alone.  Up in the sky a thousand white dots come screeching and squawking, winging their way toward that lanky frame standing there on the end of the pier.
Before long, dozens of seagulls have enveloped him, their wings fluttering and flapping wildly.  Ed stands there tossing shrimp to the hungry birds.  As he does, if you listen closely, you can hear him say with a smile, 'Thank you.  Thank  you.'
In a few short minutes the bucket is empty.  But Ed doesn't  leave. He stands there lost in thought, as though transported to another time and place.  Invariably, one of the gulls lands on his sea-bleached, weather-beaten hat - an old military hat he's been wearing for years. When he  finally turns around and begins to walk back toward the beach, a few of the birds hop along the pier with him until he gets to the stairs, and then they, too, fly  away.  And old Ed quietly makes his way down to the end of the beach and on home.
If you were  sitting there on the pier with your fishing line in the water, Ed might seem like 'a funny old duck,' as my dad used to say.  Or,'a guy that's a sandwich shy of a picnic,' as my kids might say.  To onlookers, he's just another old codger, lost in his own weird world, feeding the seagulls with a bucket full of shrimp. To the onlooker, rituals can look either very strange or very empty.  They can seem altogether unimportant ....maybe even a lot of nonsense.
Old folks often do strange things, at least in the eyes of Boomers and Busters. Most of them would probably write Old Ed off, down there in Florida . That's too bad.  They'd do well to know him better. His full  name:  Eddie Rickenbacker.  He was a famous hero back in World War II.  On one of his flying missions across the Pacific, he and his seven-member crew went down.  Miraculously, all of the men survived, crawled out of their plane, and climbed into a life raft.
Captain Rickenbacker and his crew floated for days on the rough waters of the Pacific.  They fought the sun.  They fought sharks.  Most of all, they fought hunger.  By the eighth day their rations ran out.  No food.  No water.  They were hundreds of miles from land and no one knew where they were. They needed a miracle.  That afternoon they had a simple devotional service and prayed for a miracle.  They tried to nap.  Eddie leaned back and pulled his military cap over his nose.  Time dragged. All he could hear was the slap of the waves against the raft. Suddenly, Eddie felt something land on the top of his cap.  It was a seagull!
Old Ed would later describe how he sat perfectly still, planning his next move.  With a flash of his hand and a squawk from  the gull, he managed to grab it and wring its  neck.  He tore the feathers off, and he and his starving crew made a meal - a very slight meal for eight men - of it.  Then they used the intestines for bait..  With it, they caught fish, which gave them food and more bait......and the cycle continued.  With that simple survival technique, they were able to endure the rigors of the sea until they were found and rescued (after 24 days at sea...).
Eddie Rickenbacker lived many years beyond that ordeal, but he  never forgot the sacrifice of that first lifesaving seagull..  And he never stopped saying, 'Thank  you.'  That's why almost every Friday night he would walk to the end of the pier with a bucket full of shrimp and a heart full of gratitude. (PS Eddie started Eastern Airlines.)  Reference: (Max Lucado,  In The Eye of the Storm, pp..221,  225-226)
Spirit Animals – Saving Our Wild Cousins
The wild animals – bears, deer, elk, goats – have been appearing in my dream time, asking for help!  These animals are fearful that they will have no safe places to live, and that their migration routes will be destroyed.
I was not truly understanding what the exact problem is for our wild cousins.  I asked for clarity.  This is the answer that I received.
Tarot Discussion – Zen Tarot – Turning In
I am noticing that people are acting more aloof than usual. I thought it was perhaps that the Olympics are on, or, that they are simply finding the winter long.  However, after chatting with some different people, I am finding that most people simply want to be at home, doing reading and writing and meditating.  I wondered what was affecting people.  When I pulled an Osho Zen tarot card, I had my answer.
  image
This picture comes from the Osho Zen Tarot Deck, and is Card #4 – Turning In
The commentary on this card goes like this:
“The woman in this image has a faint smile on her face. In fact she is just watching the antics of the mind--not judging, not trying to stop them, not identified, just watching as if they were traffic on the road, or ripples on the surface of a pond. And the antics of the mind are slightly amusing, as it jumps up and down and twists this way and that, trying to get your attention and seduce you into the game. To develop the knack of taking a distance from the mind is one of the greatest blessings. It is what meditation is all about really--not chanting a mantra, or repeating an affirmation, but just watching, as if the mind belongs to somebody else. You are ready to take this distance now, and to watch the show without getting caught up in the drama. Indulge yourself in the simple freedom of Turning In whenever you can, and the knack of meditation will grow and deepen in you.”
I believe that most people seem to be on an inward journey.  Perhaps this is happening for you, as well.  What is your journey about?  Send in your comments to judy@angelsandancestors.com.
Spirit Speaks – Boredom
“Good-bye. I am leaving because I am bored.”  George Saunders
image
Picture of boredom from
30tocure30.files.wordpress.com
I saw the quote about boredom, and I tried to see where, in my life, I might be bored.  I could not find a spot of boredom!  So, perhaps I was not defining the thought correctly. I turned to one of my favourite resources, www.thefreedictionary.com, and found this definition of boredom.  Boredom is “the state of being weary and restless through lack of interest”.  Now, that applied to me when I was nearing the end of my time at some jobs that I have held.
Here is what else www.thefreedictionary.com had to say about boredom.  This was under their Thesaurus section.
Boredom or ennui, tedium; dissatisfaction - the feeling of being displeased and discontent; "he was never slow to express his dissatisfaction with the service he received";  blahs - a general feeling of boredom and dissatisfaction; fatigue - (always used with a modifier) boredom resulting from overexposure to something; "he was suffering from museum fatigue"; "after watching TV with her husband she had a bad case of football fatigue"; "the American public is experiencing scandal fatigue"; "political fatigue"
With all of these different meanings of boredom, it almost seems fashionable to be bored!  What I realized as I read through all of this is that boredom really means that there is no excitement; no passion.
Really, what people are saying by being bored is that they want some passion and enthusiasm back in their life.  When passion is absent, people eventually get tired, depressed, and as George Saunders says, they leave.
I wish you passion in your life. I wish you success in all things, but mostly in finding something that fills your heart and makes you spring out of bed in the morning.
Spirit Animals – Aquarium Fish
This picture comes from commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Home_aquarium.jpg  (My aquarium does not look nearly this good, nor is it this big!)
image
The other night, in my dreams, a big aquarium popped up, out of no where, and both my fish swam to the side of the tank and looked at me.  They then made everything go dark, and little by little, cleared the blackness so that the tank, and the water, and the scene were filled with clear light.
When I woke up, I knew that the fish wanted me to clean the tank. As I carried out the task, I thought how interesting it was that I was spending an hour cleaning out the tank, and the castle and rocks and filter.  It was very much like sifting through my emotional body, and pulling out the gunk that was sitting in there.
Fish have been a symbol of spirituality and abundance going back to the time of cave drawings.  Fish, like us, come in a variety of colours with a huge range of dispositions.  The most beautiful are sometimes the most deadly.  Scientists agree that all life originated in the oceans/seas/rivers.  Therefore, water on our planet is like a big womb.  And, yes, we all require it to live.  We need to breath air, and assimilate the oxygen in the water.  Fish, then, are symbolic of the fruits of the womb, of motherhood.  They inspire creativity and bring good luck, as the Chinese believe.
Water is always transforming – it evaporates, becomes mist, may fall as rain, and then returns to the Earth to rise up again as water.  Fish, then, represent change.  If they are coming into your life, perhaps they are saying, like they did to me, “It is time to clean up your act and get your house in order for the new things that are coming.”
Spirit Speaks – The Colours Of The Rainbow
I love colours in Nature, and I believe that Creator ran wild with her paintbrush as this beautiful river was created.
Thanks to my friend Aleda for sending me this great email.
                 ******************************************
The Most Colorful River In The World
The river shown in the photographs is the Caristales, which is located near the town of La Macarena in Columbia , South America . The river, world famous for its colourful display, has been called "the river that ran away to paradise", "the most beautiful river in the world" and "the river of five colours".
During Colombia 's wet season, the water flows fast and deep, obscuring the bottom of the river and denying the mosses and algae that call the river home the sun that they need. And during the dry season there is not enough water to support the dazzling array of life in the river. But during a brief span between the wet and dry seasons, when the water level is just right, the many varieties of algae and moss bloom in a dazzling display of colors. Blotches of amarillo , blue, green, black, and red - and a thousand shades in between - coat the river.
The part of the river where the colourful blooms occur is quite isolated and is not accessible by road. Adventurous tourists can now fly into La Macarena and then make their way to the river site on foot as part of guided tours. The site was effectively closed to tourists for several years because of guerrilla activity in the region along with concerns about the impact of unregulated tourist traffic. However, the site was reopened to visitors in 2009.
So far, some 1,000 people have visited Caristales, including around 100 foreign tourists.
The tours will follow four clearly marked and authorized paths and one is no longer permitted to stay overnight or cook, as this was ruining the area previously.
Spirit Animal – Leopard Guides
Leopard is back this morning, sitting in my meditation room. I feel comfortable with her, and I wonder if she is replacing another of my Spirit Animals.  “No,” she quips, “I am just joining your zoo!”
image
                                        Picture from Wikipedia
While I thought this was an odd thing for her to say, I guess it did make sense.  I seem to always have a lot of spirit animals around me.  In fact, when I drew a card from the Animal Tarot deck the other day, the card that came up was “The World” which literally means all the animals in the world. I love them all!
Leopard then stepped forward and said that she would be working with me. She reminded me that often, in my “Word Of The Day” meditation, I receive the word “Clarity”. She told me that one of the gifts of Leopard is the ability to see clearly – they have keen eyesight, and can clearly for a mile. She said that being up in a tree also allows them to see great distances clearly, and to map out what approach they might take to kill an animal that looks like the next dinner.
Leopard told me to think about how easily we had connected.  She says that I have good intuitive abilities and that I need to use them even more then I think I already do.  She says this time of change is going to bring great challenges that will require instinct and intuitiveness to get through.  Leopard showed me walking in a woods/forest and foraging for food.
One of the things about Leopard is that even though they like their solitude, they do also like the tactile.  Touch is important for Leopard and she said that it is important for me, and that when ever I could, I should touch people.  Touch is a way of connecting and of protecting.
I thanked Leopard for her teachings, and she padded off.
Earth Shifts – New Light
image
Picture of the earth from www.divulgence.net  (check out this website’s information on the shifting angle of the Sun.
I have sometimes mentioned that the Earth is shifting.  Many talented intuitive are writing about the Earth, and the changing energy.  One of my favourite writers is Karen Bishop.  Here is an excerpt of what she posted yesterday.
Not only have we been removed from much of late, or rather “sequestered,” but there is an emptiness present as well. Feeling blank, hollow, singular, or even experiencing a loss of identity, are common sensations of this new emptiness.
We are preparing to receive an immense wave of light. This light will wash over the planet and create many changes…all in relation to creating a planet that is more in alignment with the light, or a higher level way of living and being. Feeling empty, then, is part of the preparation…a precursor to being filled up with the beginnings of a new reality. ~ Karen Bishop from www.emergingearthangels.com/2010/wings2.16.2010.html
Please check out the rest of this writing as it contains much information and simple explanations for what we are feeling.
This writing is not about flogging fear… this is about gathering knowledge and understanding so that one can shift with the changes. The analogy is that when you ride a horse, you must learn to shift with it as it changes gaits.  If you fight the horse, and sit stiffly, then each change of gait causes discomfort, and you begin to lose your place on the horse.  Ultimately, if you don’t move with the horse, you fall off!
Enjoy the shift!
Spirit Animal – Leopard Speaks
I am always in awe of the way an animal can find to communicate with me to tell me that they have something to say.  A special communication happened yesterday.  I was sitting in my chair in my session/meditation room.  When I got up to get a book, the leopard shawl that hangs on the back of my chair, stuck to my back and fell off about half way across the room.  I picked it up, and placed it back, folded across the the back of the chair.  I sat down, meditated, and when I got up, the shawl stuck to my back again. And, again, it fell off after I had taken several steps.  Now, the shawl is cotton, and my top was cotton. There was no reason for the fabrics to stick together.  So I asked, “Leopard, do you have something to say?”
The answer was, “Yes!”.
Here is Leopard from www.accessafrica.co.uk.  And, my shawl comes from South Africa, from a Sangoma, or Zulu Shaman. I received it in November 2008.  The part of this event that was intriguing me was – why did Leopard wait so long to speak?
image
Here’s what I know about Leopard:
  • they are often compared to the South American Jaguar because of their spots and their similarity of hunting.
  • like Jaguar, Leopard has extremely powerful shoulders and jaws and can carry a kill up into a tree so that it may eat undisturbed.
  • the strong jaws allow it to kill with one bite through the neck.
  • its colouring allows it to move invisibly through the African landscape, where it silently observes animals and humans, watching for weaknesses.
image
picture of Leopard from amarine88.com
I know too, that Leopard is very intelligent.  As all of these thoughts rolled through my mind, Leopard and I stared at each other.  Inside my head, he said, “Now that you are comfortable with me, we can talk some more.  I will visit you soon.”
Spirit Animals – Sending Warnings!
image
Picture of birds attacking climber comes from an email from my friend, Aleda.
Often, when animals attack us when we are doing something that we think is acceptable, they are actually sending us a warning that we should turn back for our own good.  Although the picture shows a rather horrifying vision of a modern Hitchcock’s “The Birds” movie, in reality, we have a human going into the birds’ territory, and perhaps, where they have young.  Who wouldn’t be upset?
We have all heard stories about dogs knocking down people or biting them or hanging on to them to keep the person from going some direction that will lead to trouble.  When a dog does this, we may get agitated, however, we will always say “Good dog!”.  When nondomestic animals interact in an aggressive way with us, we tend to say that they are dangerous and should be destroyed.
I often wonder why people ignore warnings.  Every year, out here in the Rocky Mountains, lives are lost because skiers or snowmobilers or hikers go outside the posted boundaries of an area.  They ignore the warning signs, and often end up under an avalanche triggered by their activity.  The Rescue Services and volunteers are tied up, sometimes for days, hunting for people that ignored a warning.
When we ignore warnings, we create unbalanced energy, or karma.    What karma may you have created today?
From Judy – Happy Valentine’s Day
This is a wonderful day to send love to everyone!  This picture is from yellow-net.com.
image
Valentine’s Day is founded in love, the same love that a priest, Valentine, showed for others.  Here is his story.
Valentine was a holy priest in Rome, who, with St. Marius and his family, assisted the martyrs in the persecution under Claudius II. He was apprehended, and sent by the emperor to the prefect of Rome, who, on finding all his promises to make him renounce his faith in effectual, commended him to be beaten with clubs, and afterwards, to be beheaded, which was executed on February 14. – from www.lonekeep.com
Cupid, one of the gods in Roman mythology, is the force that controls erotic love. Cupid is the Roman counterpart to the Greek god Eros. His name comes from the Latin word cupido which translates to “passion, desire, yearning, wanting, or longing.” However, in Latin, Cupid is known as Amor. The Latin word amor means “love, infatuation, or passion.” from www.wisegeek.com
Buddha Speaks – Who Do You Want To Be?
image
One of the things that a person undertakes when they begin the practice of Buddhism, is to figure out who they are.  This is a difficult thing to do because many times we have been shaped by so many people, beginning with our parents, that we truly have no idea of what we like.  We are much like the bride in the movie, “Run Away Bride”, who does not know what kind of egg she likes because she has always liked what her fiancé liked.  Here is a simple meditation to do each time you sit in meditation. Try to answer one question per meditation.
Enjoy the journey!
WHO DO I WANT TO BE?
Mentally project yourself 5 years into the future: how would I like to be, having accomplished what I want to accomplish, learned what I want to learn, did what I wanted to do.
- Which qualities have I developed in myself?
- Which are the most important lessons I have learned?
- What have I done for others that I feel most happy about?
- How did I manage to stop underestimating myself?
- How did I manage to stop underestimating other people?
- How did I manage to stop pretending that I cannot do things?
- Which kind of powers and abilities did I discover in myself?
- Which kind of powers and abilities did I find in others?
- What can I do right now in order to be this person in five years?
- If it feels right, make a commitment to yourself to make this vision reality.
For the past several weeks, I keep getting PURPOSE as the word of the day, at least once per week.  I wondered why this was coming up for me because I think I live my purpose.  Here is what the word means “something set up as an object or end to be attained” from the Merriam Webster online dictionary.
I found a variety of posters on the subject as well.  Here is one of my favourites.
And, I liked this one as well.
This comes from design.ag/inspiration/typography-showcase.
As I reflected on “purpose”, I began to wonder about all the legends and “how to” articles that suggest different ways of finding one’s purpose.  The Shaman of our Ancestors’ tribes did a rite of passage with each child as they came to puberty to help them find their place in the tribe.
The Mayans had three great wheels that showed the purpose of one’s life.  So, the day that you were born on, became your purpose.  The movement of the wheel indicated the purpose of each day.  Today’s message is (from www.mayanmajix.com) :
Each tribe or nation had and has its own belief system.
I kept hearing “purpose” echoing in my head.  I decided that our purpose is probably quite simple.  It is to help others have their experience as each of us has our own experience.  Our purpose is to grow as much as we can.
What do you think?
Spirit Animal – Connecting with Meerkat
Meerkat picture from www.irishviews.com
Is the third time the charm?  I am about to find out as I try again to connect with Meerkat to receive her message.
Meerkat pops up beside me and snuggles in.  She seems to be more comfortable with me than vice versa.  I find her quite comforting.  She sighs, and then begins to speak.
“We are so much like you humans and yet you know very little about us.  I find that rather disturbing.  We have many of your traits – politics, breeding practices, pup and elder care, and survival tactics.  We originally came up from the depths of the Earth.  We are some of the life forms that went underground when there were difficulties in the air and ground, difficulties that have re-emerged.  We have learned to burrow underground and to build safe nests deep enough to avoid having to be poisoned by the air.
As the food above us died, we moved downward in search of food that we could eat.  We found that others had also moved downward.  We became hunter and prey.  We learned the value of cooperation.  We learned to be respectful of our resources and therefore to adjust our numbers to the food that could support us.
We watch you now and wonder why you fight against the obvious laws of nature.  We wonder why you are destroying that which gives you life.  There is nothing that you can produce with all of your machines that is as wonderful as what She Who Feeds Us All can provide.
We have black masks because our eyes are still sensitive to the light.  We find the blackness dulls the glare of the Sun. It seems however, that humans find our mask fearful.  We are part of the issue of fear or darkness that humans have to deal with.  We are therefore, part of your path – just as you are part of our path.  The easiest strategy to cope with fear is to meet it head on, much as we do.  We wish you well.
Spirit Animal – Meerkat’s Message
This picture of Meerkat is from www.eicsd.k12.ny.us
I sat in my space and waited.  Meerkat said that it would come.  As I watched it approach, I thought how much it looked like a furry little human.  Perhaps we did look like that at one time.  I also realized that in Rupert Sheldrake’s remarkable book, “The Seven Daughters of Eve”, research showed that humans originated on the continent of Africa.  And now, here are the Meerkats, little fur balls that they are, also in Africa, in the Kalahari Desert.  My body started to tingle.
As she came closer, I became more curious about the nature of her message.  I could see behind her, several small heads in a distance and I realized that there were others, watching her come to share their ideas with me.
My mind stopped again at the phrase “ideas”.  Exactly what was going on here?  As she walked forward on her hind legs, I realized that she only has four toes on each paw, and yet each paw looks remarkably like our hands.  She moved nearer, and it seemed that she had a grin on her face.  I wish that I had brought some food because the Meerkat lives in a hostile environment – at least it seemed hostile to me.  I had looked up what Meerkats eat.  Wikipedia says:
Meerkats are primarily insectivores, but also eat lizards, snakes, scorpions, spiders, plants, eggs, small mammals, millipedes, centipedes and, more rarely, small birds. They are partially immune to certain venoms; they are immune to the very strong venom of the scorpions of the Kalahari Desert, unlike humans. They have no excess body fat stores, so foraging for food is a daily need.
Their food also seemed pretty hostile.  It seemed incredible to me that they would be immune to most venoms.
My little friend was now about six feet away.  I held her gaze, and suddenly popped out of my meditation.  I could not get back in it!  It seems I am not to talk to Meerkat today.
Spirit Animal - Meerkat
image
                                 Picture of Meerkat from Wikipedia
“The meerkat or suricate Suricata suricatta, a small mammal, is a member of the mongoose family. Meerkats live in all parts of the Kalahari Desert in Botswana and in South Africa. A group of meerkats is called a "mob", "gang" or "clan". A meerkat clan often contains about 20 meerkats, but some super families have 50 or more members. Meerkats have an average life span of 12-14 years.” ~from Wikipedia~
This morning, in my meditation, a Meerkat came in and asked to be part of the blog, for she had things to say.  I did not even know what a meerkat was, so actually had to look it up before I could even properly identify the animal.  She says that she has words to share with us.  I am to meet her tomorrow in meditation to listen to her.
It feels strange to have an animal that I thought was fictitious appear in my meditation.  The energy was warm and loving, although highly active.  I am looking forward to my next discussion with her.
Spirit Speaks – Harmony!
Every day, I am given a word of the day by Spirit.  This word is what I contemplate on during a meditation, and, perhaps through the day when I take a rest from a task.
Today’s word was once again “Harmony”.  I have received this word several times over the past three weeks, and last night, it also showed up in my dreams.  Therefore, I know the word and the concept is important.
I tried to decide what harmony looked like.  Was it a picture of a bear with his arm around a tiger, as in my blog several days ago?  Was it the park covered in pristine whiteness because of an inch of hoar frost?  Was it a baby sleeping?  I wasn’t satisfied with any of those images.  So, I began “Stumbling” through the internet, looking for a picture that would satisfy my idea of harmony.
I finally found the picture – below – at the website www.omstrument.com.  This picture captures a stillness and an energy that makes me feel that we are all moving in harmony.  I am grateful to the artist who created this.
Tarot Discussion – What Does Mankind Need to Watch for In Feb 2010
This was the question that I posed to the OSHO Zen Tarot Deck.  Here is the response.
image
  The issue: “There was no danger for the seed, the seed could have survived for millennia, but for the sprout many are the dangers. But the sprout starts towards the unknown, towards the sun, towards the source of light, not knowing where, not knowing why. Great is the cross to be carried, but a dream possesses the seed and the seed moves.
The same is the path for man. It is arduous. Much courage will be needed."
image
The unseen internal influence: “It might make some people uncomfortable, accustomed as they are to all the noise and activity of the world. Never mind; seek out those who can resonate with your silence - or enjoy your aloneness. Now is the time to come home to yourself. The understanding and insights that come to you in these moments will be manifested later on, in a more outgoing phase of your life.”
image Awareness of an external influence:”In the beginning is nature, in the end is nature, so why in the middle do you make so much fuss? Why, in the middle, becoming so worried, so anxious, so ambitious - why create such despair? Nothingness to nothingness is the whole journey.”
image
What is needed for resolution: “The figure on this card is being born anew, emerging from his earthbound roots and growing wings to fly into the unbounded. The geometric shapes around the body of the figure show the many dimensions of life simultaneously available to him. The square represents the physical, the manifest, the known. The circle represents the unmanifest, the spirit, pure space. And the triangle symbolizes the threefold nature of the universe: manifest, unmanifest, and the human being who contains both.”
image
The final outcome: “The enlightened man is the greatest stranger in the world; he does not seem to belong to anybody. No organization confines him, no community, no society, no nation…… The Rebel challenges us to be courageous enough to take responsibility for who we are and to live our truth.”
What is the message?  I think it will be slightly different to each of us because of our perceptions.  For me, the process that we will all go through in February begins with courage and ends with courage.  It is a journey of moving from being one of the flock of sheep, following blindly behind the pronouncements of big business and government, to being truly awake – enlightened.
I would love to hear your view of these cards.
