Angels Speak - Finding Time

image

Recently, I heard a speaker say that not finding time for our friends reflects that we do not find time for ourselves.  The actions with our friends is a mirror for how we treat ourselves.  I had an “aha” moment.

Although I realize that I often put myself last on the list of things I “must” do, I also put my friends there, from time to time.  What a revelation.  This morning, I did my meditation first.

Blessings.

Supporting the Community

A friend sent me this poster.  It really made me stop and think about how we spend our time and money.  In days gone by, we all prospered when we purchased goods from one another.  Then, greed set in, and everyone thought that their product or specialty was worth more than their neighbors.  People began to look for alternatives that were not so costly.

I like the idea of purchasing locally, and I try to do so.  The purchase and the price however, do have to make sense to me.

How do you feel about buying locally?

Angels Speak - Who Are You?

image

I saw this poster and I wondered at the message.  Does it mean that you identify with your illness or life situation?  Or, does it mean that you identify with your career, and your climb through the corporate structure to establish your credentials?  Does it mean all of the above?

I started thinking about all the ways that I have heard people introduce themselves:

  • I am a single Mom/Dad
  • I have cancer
  • I am an activist for…..
  • I am a struggling student
  • I work for the city of
  • I work for ….

The idea is that we identify with something other than who we are inside.  I talked with a young friend… he is seventeen… and he said that he really did not know who he was.  And, he did not know how to find out who he was.

He was asking me if he needed to do a quest, or what he could do to understand who he was.   I suggested that he try getting a job because the job will help you find out what you like to do to be useful.  If you do not like what you are doing, then you start looking at what you would like to do.  This applies to all of us at any age.

How do you identify yourself?

Blessings.

Angels Speak – Living Life Well

image

As we move through each day, do you ever wonder how you are doing as a human being,  on the scale of one to ten?  Are you useful, honorable, compassionate, and kind?  If you rated yourself today, how would you rate yourself?  How would others rate you?

I was driving down the highway, heading to a friend’s farm, and wondered how many people go through the day when they have to bomb a neighboring country, or, are cruel to animals or to other humans.

I have learned not to worry about what others are doing, however.  I know that I can make a difference by being kind, useful, compassionate, and truthful.

Blessings.

Angels Speak - What Ever The Journey

image

While I was on vacation, I had a conversation with several people that moved to a discussion on hell.  The question was, “Do you believe in Hell?”

My answer was, “Yes”.  As the poster says, when in Hell, keep going.  I think that Hell can be where ever we believe it to be, and that Hell is different for everyone.  We cannot judge what is Hell for someone else, and therefore must accept their definition of Hell because we were not in that situation.

The teaching around Hell is that one must keep going to get past the place.

Blessings.

Angels Speak - Who Makes You Smile?

image

When there is stress in your life, or if you get really angry, remember the people that make you smile, and your stress or fury will dissipate.  If you do not believe me, try it!

Remembering a time when you laughed and shared and enjoyed an activity with someone will totally wipe away stress.  Often, the other person does not remember that particular moment because it did not have the same emotional meaning for that person, at that time.

Some examples of happy memories:

  • Getting your driver’s license
  • A special Christmas
  • A first date
  • First day at a job…
  • Walking with your grandson or granddaughter
  • Sharing a glass of wine or a cup of tea with a girl friend or boy friend
  • Laughing with family or friends
  • A special wedding
  • A special dance
  • A vacation at a cabin on a lake or up in the mountains

Find your memory that makes you smile or even laugh… it is worth the journey.

Blessings.
