Buddha Speaks - Finding Happiness

When we meditate, we relate to that unsettling, ineffable commodity: the present. We train in letting go of thoughts and feelings as they arise, and settle back into the present: that gap between two concepts—past and future—that don’t actually exist. We’re simply being, here and now. - Pamela Gayle White, "The Pursuit of Happiness"

I always find it amazing when life intersects with synchronicity or magic.  Yesterday, I was writing about happiness.  And today, my guidance is that we need to focus on happiness in order to shift.  The quote that I have noted above was in my mailbox today.

I read this over and over and decided that what the message was, for me, said “If you are focused on the now moment, then you do not have time to think of the past and you will not have a need to feel unhappy.”

What this also said to me was that most people are either unhappy about the past or unhappy about the future.  To stay in the present means to be mindful of what focus your thoughts take.  It is very difficult to focus on love and and happiness when someone has just yelled at you or cut you off in traffic….. or, done whatever.

Be happy,

Judy

Spirit Speaks - Be Happy

image

I was wondering how I was going to be able to find a way to tell a friend that I did not want to see her any more because she was so unhappy that she was making it difficult to be around her.  Most if not all of her friends had abandoned her.  I had not given up – yet.  I was close.

I finally said that I would not be calling her any more.  She asked why, and I said it was because she was not happy – not once in a year and a bit had she been happy.  She told me that she did not know how to be happy and that it was my job, as her friend, to teach her.

My response was, “You cannot teach happiness.  It is something that you choose.  When I choose to be happy, my day is glorious.  If I choose not to be happy, then everything that happens has a down side, and whatever happens pulls me down too.”

She looked at me, and walked away.

Blessings,

Judy

Spirit Animals - Crow Comments on Life

We have snow, and it is leaving.  There is a feeling of spring in the air.  Crow popped up along side me in my meditation to comment that we can no longer rely on the seasons to guide us.

Crow’s comments included:

  • Seasons are an indication of order, of the slow passage of time.
  • As we become more evolved,  all of us on Earth no longer will need this passage of time.  Therefore, the seasons will come when we wish them.  Already, there are places on Earth with only one or two seasons.  We know because we visit them.
  • We are no longer looking to leave each place where winter falls.  The time of the cold is changing, and we want to see the changes first hand.
  • Put out food for all of the winged ones!  We can help you and all you need to do is to feed us.  We are that simple.
  • Find a place that feels like home to you, and if you do not live there now, move there.  We Crows are finding our home.

Blessings,

Mother Earth Speaks - A Spring Tune–Up

image

I have been hearing and seeing that we humans are not very healthy this year, as we come into Spring.  As I was sitting in meditation, I received guidance from different sources, about what we can do to improve how we are feeling.  This is a list of items that is not everything that you can do; however, it is easy things to do.

Rest!  Do your best to be to sleep by 10 o’clock each night, and allow at least 8 hours for a full-night’s sleep

Don’t push your reserves through the use of stimulants.  Try eating meals rich in cooked and raw vegetables, healthy proteins and nourishing fats.  This will replenish much-needed minerals, vitamins and fatty acids.  Try adding a spoonful of coconut oil to your cooking to perk you up!

Start your day with a protein meal  A couple of free-range eggs with olive oil or coconut oil, and greens,  covered with a tablespoon of plain yogurt, and a spoonful of soaked pumpkin seeds, will provide the energy you need later in the day.

Exercise moderately   This is a great time to take a 20-minute walk daily, and to do interval training 2-3 times a week.  You’ll get your lymph flowing and burn some of your winter fat, while not causing too much oxidative stress in your tissues.

Stay warm!  Don’t waste your energy shivering!  Wear layers. Wear a hat.  Don’t lose body heat through improper dressing for the outdoors (or even for indoors).

Eat foods and drink liquids that are warm, or at least room temperature  Avoid iced and cold foods.  This further pulls on the body’s reserves.

Many blessings,

Judy  Judy@angelsandancestors.com

Message from the Goddess for Tuesday, February 14, 2012

Happy Valentine’s Day!! I flow to you and wish all happiness and joy in your life, in all your relationships, in that you seek to have. Today has such a focus on relationships that for some it magnifies what you have; for others it magnifies what you don’t have…..

No matter where you are in your life let go of any resistance of which you may be conscious or unconscious. As you do so, you can open to the even greater flow of love within and around you. YOU ARE LOVE~~ Allow that to be your reality on this day of love!

Spirit Speaks– Love Is A Choice

image

Today is Valentine’s Day, and most people will have thoughts of love, or not love, in their minds.  A friend of mine was telling me a story about her issue with her boyfriend – she loves him, and loves him very much.  She would love the love to be unconditional.  However, he does things or has habits that are very contradictory to her belief and value system.  The hardest thing, for her, is that when she says that an action that he does is not agreeable to her, he immediately tells her why she is wrong and how right his action is – in other words, she must totally allow him to do what is right for him, and she has no rights.  This, I tell her, is imbalance.  Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and, the balance of how to integrate both person’s needs is the beauty and challenge of relationships.  If one person is not allowed to have rights, then it is time to move on – in political terms, there is a dictatorship.

Then, one of my friends sent me this story.  I thought that I would share it with you.

Love and blessings,

Judy

Don't Hope... Choose!

While waiting to pick up a friend at the airport in Portland, Oregon, I had one of those life-changing experiences that you hear other people talk about -the kind that sneaks up on you unexpectedly. This one occurred a mere two feet away from me. Straining to locate my friend among the passengers deplaning through the jet way, I noticed a man coming toward me carrying two light bags.

He stopped right next to me to greet his family. First he motioned to his youngest son (maybe six years old) as he laid down his bags. They gave each other a long, loving hug. As they separated enough to look in each other's face, I heard the father say, "It's so good to see you, son. I missed you so much!" His son smiled somewhat shyly, averted his eyes and replied softly, "Me, too, Dad!"

Then the man stood up, gazed in the eyes of his oldest son (maybe nine or ten) and while cupping his son's face in his hands said, "You're already quite the young man. I love you very much, Zach!" They too hugged a most loving, tender hug.

While this was happening, a baby girl (perhaps one or one-and-a-half) was squirming excitedly in her mother's arms, never once taking her little eyes off the wonderful sight of her returning father.

The man said, "Hi, baby girl!" as he gently took the child from her mother. He quickly kissed her face all over and then held her close to his chest while rocking her from side to side. The little girl instantly relaxed and simply laid her head on his shoulder, motionless in pure contentment.

After several moments, he handed his daughter to his oldest son and declared, "I've saved the best for last!" and proceeded to give his wife the longest, most passionate kiss I ever remember seeing.

He gazed into her eyes for several seconds and then silently mouthed. "I love you so much!" They stared at each other's eyes, beaming big smiles at one another, while holding both hands. For an instant they reminded me of newlyweds, but I knew by the age of their kids that they couldn't possibly be.

I puzzled about it for a moment then realized how totally engrossed I was in the wonderful display of unconditional love not more than an arm's length away from me.

I suddenly felt uncomfortable, as if I was invading something sacred, but was amazed to hear my own voice nervously ask, "Wow! How long have you two been married?" "Been together fourteen years total, married twelve of those." he replied, without breaking his gaze from his lovely wife's face. "Well then, how long have you been away?" I asked the man finally turned and looked at me, still beaming his joyous smile."Two whole days!"

Two days? I was stunned. By the intensity of the greeting, I had assumed he'd been gone for at least several weeks - if not months. I know my expression betrayed me, I said almost offhandedly, hoping to end my intrusion with some semblance of grace (and to get back to searching for my friend), "I hope my marriage is still that passionate after twelve years!"

The man suddenly stopped smiling. He looked me straight in the eye, and with forcefulness that burned right into my soul, he told me something that left me a different person. He told me, "Don't hope, friend... decide!" Then he flashed me his wonderful smile again, shook my hand and said, "God bless!" With that, he and his family turned and strode away together.

I was still watching that exceptional man and his special family walk just out of sight when my friend came up to me and asked, "What'cha looking at?" Without hesitating, and with a curious sense of certainty, I replied, "My future!"

Spirit Animal - Puppy Dog Tales

This week, we became the happy companions of an 8 week old golden lab puppy now named Merlin – after the wizard.  We have had a hectic time keeping up with the little guy’s schedule and we have lost a lot of sleep.  And, like all of our animal guides, he has taught us so much!

Merlin’s first day of lessons for us included:

  • be in the present moment
  • eat when you are hungry, not by the clock
  • sleep is an important part of staying balanced
  • balance is a learned art form, especially when you have wobbly legs and everyone of them wants to go a different direction
  • a name is important because it defines us and gives us a presence
  • life is wonderful and full of wonder

Blessings,

Judy@angelsandancestors.com

Angels Speak - Lost Souls

image

I have often wondered about the term “lost souls” and what that means exactly.  While sitting in meditation, I asked about lost souls and was told that the world is usually in balance.  Some souls find their way quickly between this world and the next.  Others, seem to get distracted, and do not follow the path to the next world.  These are the lost souls.  A soul needs to be ready to move on.  Sometimes, they are distracted by those that are left behind.  Other times, they get distracted by other lost souls or even energies that urge them to stay and to work with them.

The Angels talked about soul consciousness, gratitude, and the nature of souls as well as Oneness.  Much of the meaning gets lost in the translation to earthly terms.  For me, there was comfort in knowing that souls are never truly lost.  Angels and guardians are always tracking with them.

Life is beautifully mystifying!

Blessings,

Judy

Mother Earth Speaks - How To Plan Companion Planting For Herbs

image

Dear Ones!  I come to speak to you about planting for some of you are getting ready to plant in green houses or even out doors.  You can give your herbs and garden plants a new kick start by planting different herbs with different plants.

For example, if you plant Basil with Tomatoes, you will repel insects that plague tomatoes.  This is a Mother Nature natural remedy for pests!  This works with potted plants as well as ground planted veggies.

If you plant chives around apple trees, it will prevent scab on the apples.  Since chives have a lovely purple flower, it also brings the bees around to the apple tree.

Nasturtium plants repel aphids when planted with beans and tomatoes.  Nasturtium flowers can be used in salads and sandwiches.  Nasturtiums also make an excellent companion plant to not just broccoli or apple trees, but also to corn, sweet corn, Zea maize,  and cabbages.

Harvesting your Herbs

As soon as there are enough leaves on the herb plant, that picking a few will not impair the plant's survival. This also means that the herb is ready to be harvested. Always harvest your herbs in the morning hours. It is usually in the morning that the herb plant's oils are at their highest concentration. When harvesting herb make use of a sharp knife, pruning scissors, or shears. Do rinse the herbs gently in cool water immediately after harvesting. Allow the herbs to air dry, or pat the herbs lightly with a paper towel. Use them immediately, alternatively, store in the refrigerator for later use.

Blessings,

Judy

Spirit Speaks - Words of Advice For February

As I was contemplating my life, and how it was working for me, and what still had the power to irritate me, I began to get little messages about anger.  The messages included things like “anger kills” and “anger destroys” and “anger causes separation”.  All of those thoughts are true.  I just was not sure what to do with them.

Then, I received an email from an old friend.   It was about changing how we look at things, and it was entitled, “This is a new month.  Now is a good time to make changes.”

I wondered how to get a message out about Anger.  Here is the perfect picture that came my way from my friend Leslie.  This picture says it all!

Blessings,

Judy
